In Portuguese, what are the silent letters like h?

Hi Reynaldo, Long time ago the letter "h" is not recognised as a consonant and until now the controversy remains, but the letter stays in the Portuguese alphabet for etymological reasons. According by the new orthographic rules all words with consonants without sound or "mute consonants" should be writing as an educate pronunciation. I Hope this helps Tereza.
