This seemed like an excellent way to learn Italian. I have now lived here, in Italy, for two years and it is definitely essential that I can understand ir!
It is not very good at hearing what you say and my class really doesn't like it.

Response from Rocket Languages: Thanks so much for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the voice recognition. If you're not already, we strongly recommend that you use a headset to record yourself. If you are using your inbuilt mic, then it's likely that it will be picking up lots of background noise, and affecting your results. All the best with your lessons!
So far, Rocket Italian has been wonderful. I love the mix of interactive audio lessons and the Language & Culture lessons. It gives me the opportunity to learn both by immersing myself in real phrases AND by getting into the grammar and vocabulary. I like that I'm tasked with listening, speaking, reading and writing, and I combine it with my own note-taking and studying to really cement my learning.
I've only been studying for two weeks, but so far I'm cautiously optimistic. I like the reinforcement exercises and hope they continue. Review, practice, reinforcement, and generalization are so important for language learning and these conditions of good learning seem to be built into the program so far. I'm a little turned off by the chattiness of the two conversants but that's just me.
Useful! Rocket Spanish and Rocket Italian is very good!
it is actually very good at reinforcing grammar and pronunciation. The cultural component is not that strong, but at least it is introduced. I am at the intermediate level, so it took me a while to figure out where to start. Regular tests would help me evaluate how well I have learned to make sure I am working at the right level or if I need to go back to some beginning lessons. I am always concerned I might have missed something important at the beginner level. (Maybe I am missing a feature that is already there). I use it along with quizlet to help memorize vocabulary and conjugations.

Response from Rocket Languages: Thanks so much for your feedback. You may find our Benchmark tool helpful to find your current Italian level. Redo the test regularly to track your improvement. You will find it by clicking on your avatar in the members area, then selecting Tools. I hope that helps!
Unfortunately, the lessons in Level 2 are not as well done as Level 1. There is little value in attempting to repeat long directions (as in Lesson 8.4). It would be much more helpful to have us repeat short directions: turn left, turn right, make a U turn, go straight ahead, for example. Or, better yet, put the English down (Go to this street, turn left onto that street, make a U turn, etc.) and have us translate it into Italian, with the correct Italian phrase afterwards.
Just getting through the free lesson, so far, so good.
I have enjoyed the Rocket learning platform! The way they have their lessons outlined, really helps me out. I like how I control what gets checked off as completed and learned so I know I can move forward. I also like how I can go back and review. Each day I go through 4 lessons and at the end of the week, I start a new one and complete one that I have been at for 3 weeks. For me repetition is the key! My wife and I plan on going back to visit family in Italy, in about a year, so I hope by then I will be able to unerstand and maybe respond a little bit more than the last time we were there.
I'm really enjoying the course so far. It's easy to follow and made a lot of fun by Maria and Alessandro.
