I've used Rocket before for another language. I'm very happy with it. Some things annoy me, for example, mistakes. Just in the first dialog, we are told that "Uno, due, tre" rhymes with "quattro , cinque, sei". But this almost undoes the lesson about pronunciation since 'tre' ends on a pure vowel 'e' and 'sei' ends on a diphthong 'ei'. They don't rhyme. Apart from the mistakes (and I'm hoping there aren't as many as the last time I used this program), I think it's one of the best available. And I do tend to be fussy.
SO AWESOME!!! would ABSOLUTELY recommend to friends and family (and just about everyone)!! Is quite expensive (the owners are probably really stretching the price from what it needs to be) but honestly it's worth it!! FOR SURE would recomment- its worth the price because its like textbooks and training and homework and a teacher and a tutor all in one!!! Absolutely a must-have if you're starting a new language (or struggling with one you're trying to learn).
I use this in conjunction with Babbel and find the two very complementary.
Babbel is better with disciplining me to learn verb conjugations and tenses and Rocket Italian is great for driving improved hearing, reading and pronunciation.
I believe that the Rocket Languages Italian course is very useful and helps to obtain a basic level of understanding rapidly. I think that it is more efficient compared with now obsolete CD and audiotape courses that I have taken. It could be improved by adding a visual component, such as pictures of objects and foods that are mentioned.
I met a Italian online and just wanted to learn to say Good Bye said this was Free and I like that price FREE FREE FREE I AM ON DISABILITY AND NOT WORKING SO THIS APP IS NO GOOD TO ME AT ALL but if I had the money I would pay it Chow
I am one week in having completed module 1 of level 1, I bought the course to mainly learn in the car on a 1.5 hour each way commute. I must say I am very impressed so far, the 'banter' between the course instructors is amusing and adds to the learning experience and always look forward to the next lesson. i do find I have to listen to the current lesson at least three times for it all to sink in but the followup exercises using the app are invaluable for reinforcing the lessons. Having only studied French at GCSE level (A grade ;-)) previously 30 years ago I do find I have to work out the grammar myself from the audio lessons and the app myself as its not always explained. This is just probably down to how I personally like learn so no real criticism of the course. Having said that I have had a sneak peak at later lessons and I think this will come in time. All in all its early days buy I'm very much enjoying and learning a lot from the course. What may be useful are some resources such as links to simple podcasts and children books to all read and learn from.
Excellente!
Hi,
I've been using Rocket Italian for a week now and find I'm learning more Italian than in an evening class I took at college three years ago. I like that I can listen to my recorded voice and immediately compare it to the native speaker. This allows me to greatly improve my pronunciation. The pacing of the lessons is good, though I have to review often previous lessons so as not to forget difficult parts from those lessons. I'm trying to complete one lesson each day. I spend 30 minutes, then take a break before returning to finish the lesson. I practice talking aloud to myself during the day repeating the words and phrases I've learned. I will be travelling to Umbria for a month in a year. I hope to be able to have simple conversations with the local people. So far I am very pleased with Rocket Italian. The regular price is expensive, but I managed to buy it with a promo code for 60% off. At that price it is a good value for all that you get. Also the forum is an excellent way to get answers to your questions. I recommend Rocket Italian to anyone wishing to learn this language!
I researched quite a few language program options, and Rocket Italian seemed to have a solid concept. After purchasing the program, and completing the first few lessons, I was extremely glad that I went with this company. The variety of methods used to teach the lessons is refreshing, and the step-by-step lessons are packaged with a handful of integral topics of conversations (incredibly helpful if you plan to journey to the country whose language you wish to learn). I especially appreciate that words and phrases from previous lessons are intermittently thrown back into any number of later lessons to ensure the language is engrained. To summarize: it's not boring, it keeps you motivated, and it's effective. I'm impressed!
Update:
A couple of years ago, I signed up for Rocket Italian, but certain obligations prevented my completion of the course.
I recently signed up for the Rocket language lessons again, and I am blown away with gratitude for this new, fun-to-use, version. I especially appreciate the strategic repetition during each lesson and the generous "pat on the back". Most importantly, in my opinion is the fact that this program makes you want to sit down and open the next lesson plan, and then the next, and the next .... Love it!
Rocket Italian has been super helpful for me. My boyfriend is Italian and this course allowed me to communicate in his native country with his family. There are some glitches such as sensitivity with the hear it, say it part of the course, and a bug with the certification, but they are really good about fixing things.
The lessons are the perfect length about 20 minute conversation. The fun dialogue between Alex and Maria keeps it very enjoyable. I have been practicing what I have learned so far with my Italian exchange student and I am doing good!!
