I've been looking to learn Mandarin for a long time. I considered personal tuition, classroom setting, correspondence courses as well as learning from tapes but they all only emphasized on spoken/conversational Mandarin which is not what I wanted. I wanted to learn to write as well and AT LAST I've found it. Thanks Rocket! And what's more perfect is not only can I learn at my own pace but I can always go back to review what I've learnt to ensure I got my writing right.
I also like the tests after each lesson so I can gauge how I'm doing.
I started my rocket Italian trial yesterday and now am addicted to this class. The style that Maria and Alessandro use to teach is just amazing. It's like being in a class with two ineractive tutors who not only are taking you through the content but giving you easy conversations that you can relate to. Can't wait to use my little vocabulary with those Italian tourists visiting. Bene grazie. ..
Rocket Languages is a very useful program. I've only had it for a short time and I'm already impressed with the content. It is the most affordable language program out there, and also has some the best content I have seen from a language program.
It's very useful for jump starting your conversational skills, and it goes over a variety of subjects. The content is awesome, but I am the most impressed about the affordability of this program, would recommend to anyone on a budget.
I love Rocket Languages because they tell one upfront that the Arabic they teach is Egyptian. Other more expensive programs do not tell you that. That's important because no one wants to learn a language that they can't use.
I am currently in college for elementary education and work part time. After college I plan on teaching english in Korea, and wanted to get a bit of a jump on the language. One of my favorite things is how you can star any word you learn and put it into your vocab for later. This might seem small but I really like this feature! The lessons are short but very thorough and I can drop and pick back up wherever I like, which is nice considering my busy schedule. I am currently working on the Hangeul lessons and really love how RK uses example words with the Korean writing and english pronunciation next to each other, so I can sound out the words as I write them. I've been using RK for a few months now and personally, I think the price is nothing compared to all that is offered. I'm very happy with this program and will continue using it!
this was the best tutorial ive seen around bar none. it's so easy, its a decent pace for those who don't know japanese at all. and its challenging enough to peak my interest constantly. I already knew a little japanese but this proved to me that i didnt know nearly as much as I thought. with such a complex language such as this I have so much more to learn.
So far, I'm enjoying my Rocket Languages Japanese (I bought myself a subscription for Valentines Day). The structure of the online course is quite easy to follow, and good fun. I think it's going to be a long journey to learn the language, but I'm enjoying it so far.
Learning to read and write Japanese looks to be a particular hurdle, and it's good that this online course offers help on that too :)
I've lived as a US expat in Mexico for more than 2 years, and until now my Spanish has been poor.
1) As a big expat town, it's easy to speak English here and this can slow progress. Ex: (I get in a taxi. Me--"Hola, Señor. Sabes donde esta..." He--"Where you want to go?" (sigh))
2) My first teacher was a 70 year old Mexican woman. Great gal, and I really liked her program. But, by her own admission, some of the later installments were prepared when she'd smoked a bit too much mota. :-/
3) My second teacher was a young Mexican man over iTalki. Very patient, and a great teacher, but his program essentially involved him giving very interesting lectures over Skype and waiting while I wrote nearly everything down. There were no practice materials to go along with it. Nice guy, great teacher--but it's not just that I wasn't learning to speak the language; it was more that I couldn't understand how I EVER would with no drills and practice based upon his lectures. :-/
4) So now I've found Rocket Spanish. After the above experience--and Pimsleur (which I like but consider limited)-- I'm convinced this is precisely the program for me. I get all the practice I want, and the gamification employed has gotten me addicted.
Rocket languages had made me be able to speak French in A short period of time! I can now speak to other people AND Understand more French. Now, if a native French speaker comes to me, I won't be very shy and not answer them.
I really happy about learning languages with Rocket Languages. I completely found it helpful.
I excitedly learn how to speak Japanese every morning. It makes me feel like having a friend to talk to.
I am going to keep on learning other languages with this website after being able to speak Japanese.
