I like the interaction in the 'Play it' section but there are problems;
1. The programme frequently states that it has not heard my reply - despite that when I press playback my reply is very clearly there - this is very frustrating and time consuming.
2. The programme makes no allowance for a beginner taking time making a reply which inevitably takes a lot longer than a fluent speaker would take - this again is very frustrating and prevents making best use of the programme.
Ahlan beekum, hello everyone. Rocket Arabic is a pretty great tool, gets you stuck right into learning all the relevant phrases straight away so you can begin communicating as soon as you feel comfortable. Would recommend to anyone willing to learn quickly and effectively.
Started Rosetta Stone at first and did not like the structure of how they want you to learn to how I ACTUALLY learn. I purchased this after a trial because after 10 minutes of Rocket-Japanese I learned 5 useful phrases that I still haven't forgotten. With Rosetta Stone I was just confused because there is no explanation of anything you're seeing or saying. Rocket-Japanese tells you the word in English/Japanese and writes the word in English, Hiragana and Katakana. Being able to hear accents and pronunciation has helped how I sound greatly. I will continue to use this as well as supplement another useful tool.
Great stuff!
I am very interested in learning to speak English, apart from that I love the language, I need to learn to speak it very well, I have read and seen many advertisements and recommendations and I am very excited to learn from you. Thank you for letting me be part of your big family.
Bonjour! Je m'appelle Laurice. Je viens des Philippines.. I am having trouble with some lessons yet the CostumerService chat doesn't have anyone to chat so no one would help me out. I am unsatisfied because someone would be online by the time I wouldn't need help and now I really need help, no ones there to chat. Anyway, it also has helped me a lot. To let you know, I am only 11 years old yet I am willing to know more about different languages and learn about it, fun fact: we are still not studying different kinds of languages but I know that this will be really helpful in the future.

Overall, I understand the structure of the course, but it seems like many aspects, especially in testing, are done by a cookie-cutter algorithm which makes some really critical mistakes.
First, some technical issues. I use Chrome, as recommended, and there are a few things missing. Most notably, the on-screen Korean keyboard is not there. Also, I often do not have the button to mark a Writing lesson as completed. Finally, unlike in the app, there is no way for me to cut a voice recording off if I wish to restart, which often means waiting quite a while for the program to try to sort through gibberish.
Now, for the "cookie-cutter" aspect that bothers me. Frequently in the Audio lessons, the native speakers will say something that was not part of the lesson. This is fine, except that these phrases get put in the testing sections. For example, in the very first lesson there are introductions of the two native speakers. One says that he served in the Korean Marine Corps, then was discharged and migrated to the United States with his parents. He says this in Korean. This is a great way to get acquainted with the sound of the language. However, then this phrase comes up in the testing section of the exam.

I really like this approach.
I am taking Japanese lessons weekly and find that remembering commonly used phrases helps me in class.
Had some trouble with password reset yesterday on my iPhone, so reset it on my desk top.
Will see if it works
I am a bilingual person (translator from English into French) trying to learn Japanese. I've been trying several methods books, on-line, etc., over several years. Even though this method is far more interesting and educational than Rosetta, I feel that it is lacking of grammatical points or explanations, so to be a complete learner, you need to complement it by another mean (books or apps). After saying that, I will still recommend this on-line method, since I believe it is one of the best today.
Improvements:
The testing system: it would be more educational to be testing more than 5 (Japanese 2) or 10 questions (Japanese 2), while the listen and writing, test you on over 30 questions.
Even though the voice recognition improve dramatically over the years, it is still sometimes difficult to use it, especially with long sentence in the Play role section. The system stops before I say half of the sentences. It works fine most of the time with single word.
The first audio is too long and have a lot of unnecessary moments. For example, why practicing to say a word or sentence when it is listed in the vocabulary section in which you can learn how to say it as well? Also, to be honest, Kenny's voice is a little annoying after a while.
I purchased my Rocket Spanish at a time in my life when I thought I would be able to learn Spanish in a few weeks or months. Man was I wrong, it takes determination and dedication, like when I was learning Guitar, which both require a personal investment of your time, there is no short cut or quick fix . If you want something badly enough there is a cost, and it is your time, but believe me this is the way to learn Spanish.
Once you have learned something it is essential that you do not move along too fast as the things you thought you knew, are quite easily forgotten. So I try to get back to parts of the language where I am weaker, or just need refreshment.
I am 68 years old and live in Canada, and I want to succeed with learning Spanish soooooo very much now. I am sure my mind is not as quick, active and able to perform , like it used to when I was a lot younger. But aside from the stumbling blocks, I am determined to continue learning and be more proficient, in a language that I love.
My wife and I like to travel to latin countries , as we love their culture, and warmth to travelers.
I was so impressed by your course that I wrote a review after working with it for a day or so and gave you four stars. After working with it extensively for over two weeks I am now even more impressed and would like to give you five stars on every aspect. The only word for Rocket German is brilliant. You understand that when the average person says that they want to "learn" a language, they really mean that they want to understand people speaking that language in basic everyday situations and in turn be able to be understood themselves when speaking. Your material is first class for that and the ability to practise phrases over and over again comparing your own voice to a native speaker is undoubtedly the best aspect of your course. For most of us, what we hear in our head when trying to speak another language can be quite different to what sometimes comes out of our mouths. Your course gives us the chance to "hear ourselves as others hear us". When trying to speak another language, confidence is paramount. Your course delivers in spades the ability to speak confidently in everyday situations using basic vocab. My advice to anyone looking at German language courses is this - if you want to speak basic German confidently, do yourselves a favour and invest in Rocket German. You won't regret it and the course is worth every cent of the purchase price.
