I like this because know I can watch a Chinese drama and not having to worry about it having English subtitles. I also like the Korean rocket Korea, I would recommend this to a friend if I had one who was interested in Korean or Chinese.
I have been studying Japanese on and off for a couple of years, this is because i get too busy and reading a book takes a lot of effort and becomes boring when you do not know much of what you are reading and there is no one to tell you if you are doing the right thing or if you are even pronounce it correctly. This course is amazing in the way that it is very interactive and I feel like everyday I go on it I am learning something new and useful that I can add to my vocab. I love how the score system works and the fact that there is a leader board that lets you know how you have done that day compared to everyone else. I am a highly competitive person and I feel like this allows you to push yourself further to try and get number one in that leader board. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in learning a language, it is worth it as long as you will put in the time to study and stay consistent. Hope you guys enjoy it.
Having got to the end of my tree in Duolingo, I was looking for something more structured that could take me to the next level. Stumbled across Rocket Languages on the internet and decided to take a chance on the free trial to see what it was like.
Overall impressions so far are very good - the course is much more in depth, and uses real people to deliver the lessons and caters for different learning styles. The points/badges system is useful for keeping up motivation, the the weekly "Rocket Fuel" emails are tailored to here you are in the course. While more expensive than Duo (i.e. not free!), I have so far found it to be very helpful - and have jumped in to the paid for version with both feet. Despite having a fairly good knowledge of some words though Duo, I have found that even in Module 1 of Rocket I am learning things that I simply haven't covered previously.
For me, the existence of an iOS app is also a key selling point, as I am rarely in front of a computer with a microphone (which is critically important if you want your attempts at speaking rated). This also lets you get in a bit of studying whenever and wherever you want. I do think that the app still needs a little more attention, but is good enough for now and I have been impressed with some fairly rapid responses from the support team.
In summary - I personally would recommend Rocket Languages, and I hope to stick with it for a long time to come!
rocket Chinese...alas,I wish I have been studying hard. but...I actually speak Chinese. rocket French is biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiien.
Solid program that keeps you on track to learning a new language, or improving on one you already are familiar with. Easy, daily bites of the language are essential. I especially the like "competitive" nature of the POINTS system, where you can monitor progress against others.
I'm a Vietnamese. After participating in the program, I felt clear my progress. Although my ability is still very limited. But so I was very happy. I find this program very useful. It has helped me to improve listening and speaking skills in a natural fluency in Japanese.
Very helpful way to learn Korean. Given the multiple options to learn a new language, this program makes it easier for users to learn at whatever speed and learning method that best suits a user. The phone application is specially convenient to listen to your car radio and get a few extra minutes of studying while driving. The only negative experience I have had is when you are in an area with weaker cell signal (where I live) the audio sometimes does not work but it streams nicely over the internet. Everything else about this applications is wonderful!
I've been searching for quite a while for an online Italian course and everyone single one I've found has been lacking in various areas. Rocket covers all bases of writing, reading, listening and speaking. Having this variation keeps you interested along with all the helpful tips and the gamification using points and streaks.
What would be great is if Rocket could add video to the overall experience. One thing that is always tough when learning a new language from home and not in the country you're learning about, is not being able to picture being there. Seeing Italy through videos and pictures really helps the imagination and inspiration to learn more about the Italian language and culture.
Loving this. My one criticism is that I do have to wonder who on Earth thought that "Evlampieff" would be a good last name for a Spanish-speaking character? Is this an actual name? I'm able to repeat the Spanish parts well enough, but I'm stumbling over this name.
Otherwise, the best course I've taken. I highly recommend it.
Response from Rocket Languages
Evlampieff is Mauricio's real surname!
