Thank you for your review. We apologize for any inconveniences caused by this. We have passed this onto the team for them to take a look at.
Rocket French is the only course I have tried that succeeds in getting you talking. Many courses can teach you the basics as you sit in a class and take your turn to say something, or do online exercises but you still get tongue tied the second you try to use it in real life. Rocket French can get you past that.
I have 17 years in London with a French wife learning french on and off, and now live in France so need to use it. Learning a language in my opinion requires three things in general order (but even better if done in parallel) 1. A strong base of grammar and vocabulary to have something to work with 2. Speaking the language out loud to get into the habit of using it correctly without reflection 3. Moving to the country and chucking yourself in the deep end to expand and refine. Most courses can do 1, only you can do 3, but in my opinion after many years of french study rocket french is the only one that does 2 with depth and substance. Speaking correctly is also important, as although I have been speaking rough french for years that gets me by in family gatherings, only in doing the saying then writing that you really start nailing the articles and gender etc to really move forward.
I am really enjoying this course so far. I like that you can skip a lesson if it may not pertain to you or your current goal and then come back to it later. I also love being able to listen to the Interactive Audio lessons again later on my phone to reinforce the lesson I did for the day.
One thing that would be better, is if it asked you to write a review at the end of a lesson to not interrupt your learning.

Thanks so much for your review, Frank - it sounds like you're getting a lot out of the course. Regarding our 'write a review' request, we will forward your feedback to the IT team for their consideration. All the best with your language learning!
I'm happy that this was my first exposure to American Sign Language (ASL). I now have an excellent foundation. I believe the lessons could cover a bit more subject matter to increase effectiveness but I believe the syllabus was well formulated.
It is fun to learn French pronunciation and more about the grammar. I also think it is good for my seventy-six-year-old brain to try this new exercise!
I have been looking for a language program to learn Egyptian Arabic that does not teach using pictures/flash card type learning. Finally, I found it! The price is fantastic for a "lifetime membership". I am only on the first lesson and I can already converse with my fluent boyfriend and his father, who is from Egypt. I love Rocket Language!
After marrying my husband (who is Korean) I moved to South Korea and began the process of learning Korean. Rocket Korean is a very affordable and enjoyable way to learn Korean; it contains common phrases that are actually used in everyday conversation, and also has several methods to make sure the information sticks after you finish the lesson.
I'd definitely use Rocket Languages again if I ever need to learn another language.
I'm currently only halfway through the second lesson, but it seems good so far. You should be aware that the main reason I'm writing this review, is because they'll give me $10 cash back if I do.
Note that there are a lot of special offers, and the one they email you may not be the best one available at the time. Also, if you're paying by credit card, and you're not in the US, you will probably get a better deal if you pay in USD, and let your bank do the currency conversion, instead of taking the option to pay in your local currency.
Honestly though, it does seem pretty good so far, and seems to be very good value.
the rōmaji on the flashcards is driving me away from using Rocket for Japanese.
just maddening to have in SETTINGS as OFF
In 1/5 of a lsdon, I can set English OFF but where i WANT it off, it is stuck ON as a feature ?!?
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Robert, you can turn the romaji, kana and kanji on/off in the FlashCard settings at top right of the FlashCards themselves.
Great value for price! I like the browser but was really impressed with the app on IOS. Since I am on the go quite often, it is nice to learn Mandarin and check things off right on my phone. The more exposure to the language the better, and now I don't have to just sit at a computer all day and learn. Despite a few little bugs it has been more than I expected and I would recommend Rocket over Rosetta Stone anytime.
