Find out what actual users have to say about our courses through their Rocket Languages reviews.
I am generally very happy with the spoken feedback and the quality of the instruction of Spanish.
Unfortunately often my mic fails to pick up my spoken answer correctly. I bought a special mic for my iPhone and I hope that the mic performance will improve.
However, I need to review and practice hard points such as writing with the correct accent marks. Doing the harder parts of lessons several times is helpful.
I am very pleased with being able to download lesson lectures. Then I can practice away from the computer. This is very helpful.
One problematic lesson:
In Module one of Rocket Spanish, there is one lesson that is poorly designed. Presently I am doing the alphabet. Why is there no spoken practice of the alphabet? Words are presented as a vocabulary list to be memorized. How useless. ! But there is no testing or practice of spelling which is the object of the lesson. This pointless presentation of the alphabet is unlike the quality of other lessons. I wish it could be redone.
Also, in this lesson it is argued that the alphabet is related to learning the correct pronunciation of Spanish.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Ellen - Thanks for the detailed review. As far as the alphabet not having voice recognition, this is because single letters do not work well with voice recognition. It always looks for a word or phrase, which would give mixed results. In saying that further down that page there are examples of each letter of the alphabet in use in common Spanish words. We will email you directly as it does seem strange that we haven't received or replied to your emails.
I am having a lot of fun with Rocket German, and next, Rocket Spanish. This program is pretty great. I hope lots of people make use of it. Other programs I have tried did not compare.
There is no functionality to allow you to quickly click on a word that you don't know to figure out what it means. Instead you have to wait through the painstakingly slow audio to hear someone tell you what it means. Very frustrating, especially if you're like me and learn better through seeing.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Michael - I am not sure what you mean here as every word/phrase in Rocket Chinese has the Hanzi, Pinyin, English translation and the literal translation. We have also recently added subtitles to the Interactive Audio course tracks to make following them much easier!
Good luck unsubscribing! Still paying for no reasons!

Hey guys I totally recommend this website to you.
THIS WEBSITE WILL MAKE YOU BECOME FRENCH MASTER IN 5 MINUTES.
Look, I understand that the French speak fast, but, you can't slow it down for people who are new to the language and are trying to learn? Let us understand the correct pronunciation and then we can increase the speed. I had to go to another source to grasp the correct pronunciation. Because of this, I strongly discourage anyone new to the French language from wasting their time on Rocket Languages.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi there - The pronunciation in all of our Level 1 courses IS slower than native speakers. It can take some time to adjust to the rhythm of a new language so don't be disheartened if it is difficult to understand at first. Listening to a radio/podcast in the language is a good idea to speed up this process.
This is a review of Rocket Korean. I have found Rocket German Level 3 to be useful, and would recommend it, but I am very disappointed with Rocket Korean.
I am 71 and in the last few years I have learnt five European languages to a good conversational level. I began to learn Korean a few months ago and have used two well known audio courses, both of which I love, and I am working every day with an excellent app that specialises in Asian languages. So I was not a complete beginner when I started Rocket Korean, hoping it would help. Unfortunately, I have found it much too difficult, with too many new words introduced much too quickly with very little help and reinforcement.
If Rocket Korean had been my first attempt at language learning, I would have given up, believing that I was either too old, or not clever enough, since I find it impossible to retain any of the material covered in its lessons. Fortunately, from my experience with the other methods I know that I can learn languages, even Korean, if the material is presented in the right way.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Martin, thank you for leaving a review. Korean can be quite a tricky language to learn for English speakers and the Korean team have tried to structure the course in a way that makes sense for English speakers. They will take a look at these early lessons again to try and make them clearer for our learners.
I love this program, its helped me learn so much French, I love it. Shout outs to Mark French, CEO French.Love you guys, or really je t'adore ahhahahahahahahahaahhahhahahahahhahahahaaaaaaaahahhhaah 5/5 love it hahahahhaahhahahhahaaaaahahahhahahhha
I have 3 previous French courses (Premium, Premium Plus, and Platinum). I have been extremely satisfied with them; I listen to the audio lessons all of the time to increase my comprehension of spoken French. I purchased the Travelogue package and have been very disappointed that the audio is in English. Without being able to listen to the entire lesson in French, it completely takes away the audio experience and turns it into just a series of exercises to be completed. Is there any way to change the audio portion into French, instead of the woman reading the lesson in English?
Response from Rocket Languages
A French narrative will be in the Rocket French Travelogue series by the end of the year! (Update 2018: The Rocket French Travelogues now have the full script available in French as well as English, and French and English audio versions that you can use much like the Interactive Audio course tracks)
I purchased the English rocket language, but I have encountered some issues with the audio on the Android app. The words and phrases do not play correctly, but they do work properly on the laptop browser. However, when trying to record on the laptop browser, only the last part of the word or half of the sentence is recorded, which is very inconvenient. As a solution, I have been playing the words and sentences on my laptop browser and attempting to record on the Android app. Rocket language has a 60-day refund policy, so I will be requesting a full refund due to these issues.
