So far, I'm enjoying my Rocket Languages Japanese (I bought myself a subscription for Valentines Day). The structure of the online course is quite easy to follow, and good fun. I think it's going to be a long journey to learn the language, but I'm enjoying it so far.
Learning to read and write Japanese looks to be a particular hurdle, and it's good that this online course offers help on that too :)
I've lived as a US expat in Mexico for more than 2 years, and until now my Spanish has been poor.
1) As a big expat town, it's easy to speak English here and this can slow progress. Ex: (I get in a taxi. Me--"Hola, Señor. Sabes donde esta..." He--"Where you want to go?" (sigh))
2) My first teacher was a 70 year old Mexican woman. Great gal, and I really liked her program. But, by her own admission, some of the later installments were prepared when she'd smoked a bit too much mota. :-/
3) My second teacher was a young Mexican man over iTalki. Very patient, and a great teacher, but his program essentially involved him giving very interesting lectures over Skype and waiting while I wrote nearly everything down. There were no practice materials to go along with it. Nice guy, great teacher--but it's not just that I wasn't learning to speak the language; it was more that I couldn't understand how I EVER would with no drills and practice based upon his lectures. :-/
4) So now I've found Rocket Spanish. After the above experience--and Pimsleur (which I like but consider limited)-- I'm convinced this is precisely the program for me. I get all the practice I want, and the gamification employed has gotten me addicted.
Rocket languages had made me be able to speak French in A short period of time! I can now speak to other people AND Understand more French. Now, if a native French speaker comes to me, I won't be very shy and not answer them.
I really happy about learning languages with Rocket Languages. I completely found it helpful.
I excitedly learn how to speak Japanese every morning. It makes me feel like having a friend to talk to.
I am going to keep on learning other languages with this website after being able to speak Japanese.
Would I recommend to a friend? Already did, to all four of my immediate colleagues at work that are considering Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese.
Did Pimslueur when I was trying to learn Lithuanian for my wedding. Great for pronunciation but certainly very limited vocabulary, no grammar instruction, no book and no writing component. Very expensive on top of that.
Rocket Italian seems to have all of these bases covered so that I can look forward to a true understanding of how the language works rather than parroting back audio tapes.
I enjoy the learning experience. I would recommend it to my friends. The speaking helped greatly with my communication. I liked the interactive flash cards, they helped with my memory. The audio of real life situations helped me a lot as well
Rocket Languages provided me the opportunity to not only practice my French vocabulary, but also my pronunciation in French words/phrases. I have benefited a lot from practicing my pronunciation from Rocket Languages than any other site on the internet. I would recommend this website to anyone who has the motivation to learn.
This is an excellent language course, which is fairly priced. The lessons were fun, practical and educational. The ability to review, select favourite phrases and track progress are great features. The interaction between the 2 protagonists made the lessons personal. All lessons had continuity and flow, which made learning a more pleasant experience. I definitely recommend this product.
This website is quite the learning site! It has very good other reviews, others including what I will say further on. But all of the experience I had over the first couple of days is shown here. I will probably not use this website for long periods of time because of the money included, but it is a good experience if you are new to the language, and had surprising features, such as the kanji and romaji, and previously I had gone on other websites which lacked those features.
I really am enjoying this website and it's features, which also include many known phrases and accurate translations, unlike other websites.
This website is easy to use, and you can include vocabulary in the my vocab section. I really enjoy using this, because it is an easy way to study japanese and any other language.
Although I do not want to use money, I will use this trial for as long as possible, cost-free.
Overall I would give this website 4/5 stars, the 1 star missing would be full free japanese training, although I'm certain after research that it might not exist.
But, even after that, the quality of this website is high, and the website is very intimidating to other ones. Rocket Languages is a very good starting website to learn languages on, and others should give it a try!
Am enjoying the Rocket Languages with enthusiasm. Being a beginner of the language the Rocket Language has given me the edge of learing the language. At first when I was being advised to learn French, I was interested to learn this and and arrange reading and gethering knowledge on gender, verbs, words from disctionary which helps a lot for my clear knowledge building and the Rocket Language just exelerate the edge of learing. I like to read with proper guideline though there is lots of exceptions, but I concentrate on some exceptions and others are being treated as normal rule - gives me the essence of French in reading and also little bit speaking.
