Find out what actual users have to say about our courses through their Rocket Spanish reviews.
Rocket spanish is the best starter pack for quick self learners. couldnt find anything better.
In the past I used to study english the same way in an institute that over charged me for roughly the same service level I enjoy here learning Spanish. oh and I also had to drive there, park, etc.
The only thing missing YET is a live conversation session forum for students sharing similar knowledge levels. such conversations are optimized when being lead by a teacher or a conversation regulator - this can be easily arranged thtough a partnership with a third party provider such as italki and others.
well done! keep it going I am with you
Thank you
Guy
I am from Namibia and I have always wanted to learn spanish ever since i was young; its such a beautiful language. It was always difficult finding time between my studies for a spanish course however until i learned about Rocket spanish. The only regret i have now is that i did not discover Rocket languages early enough. This is such an amazing way of learning on the go. I am learning at my own pace and honestly, my confidence is growing with every lesson. You have to try it.
I came across Rocket Spanish as a referral from a friend. So far I am liking the lessons. I like that you repeat the words and phrases over and over. Also, listening to Mauricio talk in Spanish like normal is helpful. In real life Hispanics speak quickly. Hearing Mauricio speak gets one tuned to listening in real time & I think in the long run it will help. I like the extra activities but having to hit "review" after each item is a bit tedious. Also, the price a bit steep but you do get a lot so I think this is money well spent.
I am probably an low intermediate and have completed the second level of Spanish and started the third but found it quite a bit harder without a lot of explanations for the grammar or expressions used.
I stopped working on it for now, and have started the Spanish Travelogue instead. . Again it is harder than I hoped with very rapid Spanish and verb tenses I have not yet learned. I would have liked a little more explanations - For example, I appreciated getting a quick response to my question as to why the verb haber was not conjugated in a sentence.
" 'Haber' is not conjugated as it is acting as a modal auxiliary; and when it is followed by a past participle (olvidado) it forms the compound infinitives in the conjugation. It's a compound tense, just like in English. "
But it is still way past my current understanding. I will carry on as I am finding it interesting but I am not sure I am quite ready for this.
I enjoy the desktop interaction. The self pace and modulars are about the right size for learning. I'm 2 modules in. Some of the user interface is a little clunky. The phone app is very clunky. Neither of them bookmark progress within the audio file. No points appear to recorded while using the mobile app.
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: The ability to bookmark progress within an audio file is coming soon. Points are recorded on mobile and synched with the desktop version.
The content/learning is excellent , however a lot of speaking and the app does not work well and even the home/laptop computer has glithces. Would like to see lessons with more typing and less speaking
Rocket Spanish has been a big surprise - it's one of the best language learning tools I have used hands down, and for the price is astonishing value. It's really unfortunate they have such a bad reputation with all the spammy affiliates and informercial-style marketing ("but wait, there's more!"). I only bought it after some hesitation and reading a few in-depth reviews from people I already trusted.
If you're on the fence about taking the plunge, look past the used-car-salesman marketing. The team that makes the actual courses is really good. They just need a new marketing department that don't use dodgy tricks, they can easily grow on the quality of the product instead.
Rocket Spanish is pretty good. It's certainly better than other programs I have tried. Every so often it tests you on words you haven't learned. In one case it ends Module 1 with a survival kit of a list of 300 words, then assumes you know them in Module 2. This is ludicrous. One or two lessons refer to a beginners' book that is not included. The good part is the interactive call and response and the ability to easily go back and review lessons so you don't forget as much as you move on. Most words reoccur in several lessons so you don't forget. A few are not.
I did some research before buying Rocket Spanish and the reviews were excellent, however I did not read anything that said it was all about South American and therefore some of the language is different. I feel it is designed for the younger people with little reference to the older person who only plan to go on vacation to mainland Spain. I also think the long drawn out conversation by the American lady at the start of each session is excessive and a little annoying, although of course you can skip this as shorter conversations follow and these cover all the relevant points.
On the plus side Rocket Spanish has been well thought out and covers everything that is needed to learn Spanish. I like the fact that you can jump ahead and back to different modules if there is something specific you want to learn, like the time or numbers. I also like to use the voice recognition and the conversation section. The price is excellent so I purchased the whole package which will last me forever. I do not regret buying this product and my Spanish is improving because of it.
All good, slowly learning but that is more down to my application rather than this great programme. I particularly the way the teaching materials are laid out the tips that are given throughout. THe audio lessons have really helped me get a grasp of understanding the spoken form.
