I am very impressed with how easy the course is. Love the fact that they break down the conversations into sentences, where you can repeat a little at a time. Makes it easier to learn the words and how they should sound. Looking forward to being able to speak in Spanish on our next trip to Mexico
This is the most helpful app and course I've tried among all the other apps. The only glitch I found is the hear it, say it part where it does not recognize some of my inputs but overall, the app is great.
I only been using this program for a week and I absolutely love it! Rocket languages over exceeded my expectations. I was wary at first about the price, but already a week into the program. I feel like it will be well worth it.
so i tried this out and i really like the set up and all of the lessons i especially love how it can rate your pronunciation i think that that is really helpful it is also pretty fun i don't not enjoy doing it
Very good training in Spanish. The lessons are carefully thought out, build on each other, and stress repetition and practice. The actors are believable, and the introductory phrases are helpful to travellers. The grammar is introduced later; an earlier discussion (for example) of the difference between soy and estoy would have been helpful (I looked it up), as it would help the learning process.
Overall, a very polished, well-thought out program.
Excellent lessons and drills to make sure you hear, pronounce, and write the language correctly. I like how you learn through phrases, not just verb conjugations. Good info about culture makes it more interesting. Although this costs way more than Duolingo (which is free), the price is a bargain for the easy-to-navigate and well-structured interface. The only negative is one night I had trouble with the website; it was showing primitive html (yes, I had the most recent Chrome browser). Customer service responded to my email for help five days later. By then, the issue had resolved. But my streak and ranking suffered.
I love this site. The setup and option to choose difficulty is brilliant. I especially love how rocketlanguage breaks everything down. I would definitely get this if it wasn’t so expensive. I would rather buy Rosetta stone for a lot less.
At first I thought that the length of the interactive audio lessons would be a turn off, but it turns out they are actually really fun and engaging. Even more importantly, I am learning a lot! I just started using it, I went through the free trial (which I love that they offer) and then bought the program. I like that I can print out the transcripts of the lesson too. Visualizing what I am saying is important, especially for reading skills. I am very happy with the product, although I would not have been able to afford it if it was not on sale. Overall, would highly recommend if you are serious about learning a language. It is lifetime access so it is a good investment.
Still learning about how to use the app. It seems to work well on my Android phone, and voice recognition does not work on my iPad. I wish I could explore more alternate words and phrases that seem commonly used...according toSpanish speakers I attempt to engage.
Unfortunately I am one of the Rocket Languages failures. I spent my first few months doing what I believed the course asked me to do -- one lesson per day with extra study. After 4 months I had finished the first level of Spanish. I could say hello to folks, order a simple meal in a restaurant -- check in to a hotel, etc., but when I met with my Spanish speaking friends I could not understand what they were saying . So following the recommended learning path was not working for me.
I also noted that the course admins reward points as an indication of learning. Yet, in my case, I could not see any relationship between points and my knowledge of the material. Also a glaring weakness is that one can earn points by repeatedly answering the same questions. I found that I was memorizing the answers to all of the questions. I then thought if I could present the materials to myself in a different way, I could learn the materials better. I began pulling down many of the lessons at one time -- taking them into a little program I developed that would then present the material to me in various ways. My hope in doing this is that by so doing, I would more effectively learn the materials.
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: The issue was not about whether or not you were trying to game the points the system. The issue was that it is impossible to get 50,000 points on a continuous daily basis without manipulating the system, which as you allude to in your review, you did. It's not fair to our other users to let that continue to happen.
