"The" in Spanish can be "el" or "los" or "la" or "las" depending on what it refers to.
For example, the car = el coche or el carro, both of which are masculine nouns, the house = la casa, because it is a feminine noun. The cars = los coches or los carros, and the houses = las casas, and these are the plural forms.

This is such a wonderful Spanish program.
I home school my kids (8 & 11) and this is the subject they look forward to at the end of the day. They look at it as a game and have so much fun practicing Spanish. I think their favorite part is the Rocket Record. They REALLY enjoy listening to themselves speaking in another language.
I'm going to implement this class 30min-1hr a day, every other day.
Anyone else using this for home schooled kidz?
Anyone have suggestions or experience in taking this out of the computer and into a flashcard game or something creative like that??

jodi z's question regarding a chat room makes me think how great it would be to have a chat room right here in Rocket Languages. Actually, I suppose there would need to be a chat room for each language.
I am employing a number of strategies in my quest to speak Spanish, but I cannot think of a better option for someone like me who is in his first six months of learning than to be able to "converse" in writing, with fellow Rocket Spanish students.
I don't know about others, but finding opportunities to practice in a relaxed environment would be incredible beneficial. I think that if a lot of us expressed an interest, perhaps the site would look into hosting such rooms?
What do you all think?

Any tips for me? One thing I have tried for commons nouns is writing the words on sticky notes attached to the items, but im trying to work with verbs now! is there ANY easy way?? any replies welcome! :)

I recently found a web site called Quizlet. The site has a number of flashcards and other learning tools for many subjects, including Spanish. I first began using a set of Spanish verb flashcards that someone else created, then created my own set of the verbs listed in the Rocket Spanish Beginner's Book. I am not quite finished adding all of the verbs from the sections that I have studied so far (I am on section 6 now), but will be soon. Then I will add the verbs from each section when I study that section.
I like how the program works because it has an automatic play mode that moves right along to keep you thinking, most of the verbs have audio as well as showing the word, you can mark words that give you trouble for more intensive study, and there is a mobile app so you can play it on an iphone (and maybe other devices) as well as a laptop.
I believe that you can find and use the set that I have created, and are welcome to do so, or you can create your own set.
