When do we prounounce " ll " as "J" and when do we pronounce it as "Y" ?

To my knowledge, both are correct. It is like different accents in English. People from Spain tend to use the J sound and most Latin Americans the Y. Since I have contact with more people who use the Y sound, that is what I practice with. Good Luck!
