In the Rocket Spanish Conversation 2.2, "Making Weekend Plans"...... These are some of the conversations that transpired:
"Voy mañana"
¿A qué hora?"
A las diéz.
íMe voy contigo.
I was wondering why not just "Voy contigo". Why is "Me" needed. Could you please explain?
Muchas gracias.

Hola Ester,
"Me" has been added in simply to ad emphasis. *I'm* going with you.
You can use "voy contigo" to the same end, the only thing is that when you emphasize it like we did, it sort of leaves no room for argument like "I'm going with you and that's the end of it!, you get no say in this"...
I hope that helps.
Regards,
Mauricio.

Lloyd,
Por nada señor, soy jubilado tambien. Hace casi 5 años que estudio español A veces es difícil pero es vale la pena. .Buena suerte con sus estudios de español. Ahora en inglés:Lloyd, keep at it and ask questions. It's worth it! I wish there was more activity on this forum by the way. There are some sharp people that advise from time to time. Look for replies from" nohablo".
