Badges and points

Hi All

This is not important or really relevant, but I am intrigued that different languages trigger new badges at different points. I have reset all my languages back to zero and have started from scratch and am trying to spend equal amounts of time with each of them.

Am no longer focused on points, just became too much. Am enjoying myself a lot more and have time to concentrate on other language sites too.

That is odd, I wonder what the logic is behind that. I am going to guess the sites were built at different times and there is no underlying logic, but I guess I am a cynic!

I agree about points chasing versus learning/enjoyment, Maxie.

I wonder if there are different amounts of content therefore points per course?

I use the points to motivate me to do a little bit every day. If I take days off of something, it is amazing how fast a week (or whatever) goes by before I realize I took more than the “day” off.

Hi All

I no longer chase points, was getting so stressed, so as I said asked them to reset my account. I am far too competitive for my own good at times. Was a decision I did not find easy, but I am so glad I did. Am more relaxed and having more fun with my language learning. Hiding the points at the top didn't help, as I kept looking and checking. Pathetic, I know :)

So now I do what I want to do and feel no pressure to compete.
