Continued problem with testing module

This morning I attempted to complete the test for module 12. Things went fairly well in the Hear It test, although the system was slow to cycle on to the next statement.

But when the system went to the Write It section, it hung up at the point where the tutor is supposed to say what I then write. Nothing I did unfroze the system. At the very least, it seems to have saved my work so I don't have to start all over again.

Has anyone else had this problem or is it just me?

Thanks,

Dan

EDIT: Out of curiosity I closed Firefox and logged into RS on Safari. I was able to navigate back to the testing module and my work is still there, but the system still won't go forward.

EDIT 2: And then, being even more curious, I went to a random lesson and tried to do the testing module. It also hung up at the same point; the tutor is struck speechless here as well.

It's been awhile since I've taken these tests but I do remember getting blocked in the Write It Section for a given entry. When that happened, I would hit the button without entering any text, get the Not At All / You Shmuck evaluation and then press on to the next question, lamenting all the while how my score was taking a hit...

One thing I did discover though. The system never hung on me when I went straight to the test after first opening the web browser (Chrome). Maybe it has something to do with how the cache is being managed - maybe it was just coincidence.

I had the same experience with getting blocked in the Write It section.

When I came back here later this morning I first got the message they were doing some work on the system. But it did let me in and I started the Write It tests. After a few questions though, it hung up again.

It is very frustrating to me when I log in at the best times of my day to learn Spanish and my efforts are thwarted by a computer. I know that work has to be done on the system, but I don't think that a message 12 hours or so ahead of planned work is too much to ask so that I can plan my day around the outage.

I had a freeze in the Know It phase of the Module Tests where the audio would not play. I was able to pass on the question without refreshing the window. I'm using Chrome.

I also seem to hit the maintenance windows and would really appreciate more clear guidance about what is going on. If the team is small, it shouldn't be hard for the manager to write up a post each day that explains which languages, and what areas of the site are planned to change for the month and when.

Here are a couple professional examples for outages:

Google makes a very nice calendar that anybody can display in their own timezone to see what is happening. The calendar system is free and can be published for any number of people to see. https://www.google.com/calendar
