Culture lessons in Target Language

I am a strong believer in practicing the four aspects of language learning: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. To that end I read a book in Spanish (usually a child's book), or I use a site that has a story in Spanish accompanied by the English translation as part of my daily practice.

So this morning while doing a Language and Culture lesson I thought what a great idea it would be if the culture lessons were written in the user's target language, accompanied with the translation in the native language. I'm not exactly sure how this would work programming wise since RL presents a number of target languages to users in a probably equal number of native languages, but it doesn't seem insurmountable. I also realize the culture sections of the earliest lessons would have to be re-written to make them simpler for new learners to read. Oh, and as long as I am making a wish list here, the article could be rewritten to stress the use of whatever language that particular lesson is teaching. Maybe a short quiz could even accompany the culture article.

Hi Dan - Thanks for the idea. We are doing something very similar with a new product (for Spanish and French) that will be out soon. I am not sure if you are familiar with the Espanol Episodes, but we will be building on those, including having them in the target language (with a toggle).
