"Hear it say it" When I am studying and I come to the section
where I can record myself I used to be able to see the native
speakers recorded phrase above my recorded phrase and compare
them. Now that feature isn't there. Does that have
something to do with the "flash" that is updated and needs some
work before it will be like it was before?

Clemente: yes, I think it does. I think that the flash update
disrupted the system RS had in place, and they substituted the
player as a stop gap measure. I hope they keep the player, since on
complicated sentences I like the ability to move around in the
recording rather than have to start all over again if I didn't
understand something the first time through.

Flash 18 broke the playback feature to Rocket Languages introduced
a new playback device. But, this is not connected to the
points counter so you don't get points when it is invoked.
Some tests seem to use a different flash plugin so the points
still work. It seems "Play It" and "Know It" still use the
other flash plugin and still award points.

Now the Module Test is not working. It shows the Reveal button but
no sound. The lesson workaround is working but now the test fails
so I cannot progress.
Any one else run into this? I tried Safari, Chrome, then WinDoze Explore and Chrome - nothing.
And as far as I can tell you can't take tests on the apps.
Very frustrating lately

This thing is is that you can't play the recording of the native
speaker and your recording at the same time to compare them because
the native speakers recording isn't there any longer. Hope
they get a work around that allows this feature again, that was a
main reason I paid for the premium level.

I meant Platinum level. With this level I expect the best
there is to offer. So I hope they are working hard to fix and
improve upon all aspects of the program.

For clarification, the functionality is the same regardless of what
level you are on. The difference between the platinum level course
and those prior is that it contains more advanced material (so
given that you are studying French, I presume it would be covering
the subjunctive, etc.).

I have just started Rocket Italian and I am enjoying it. I do have
a suggestion that I would find helpful. There are a number of words
or expressions used in the narrative and they are in bold.
Sometimes they include a word that has not been presented before. I
would like to see these bolded words be interactive so one click on
the word or expression would offer what it sounds like and also
what the translation is. Thanks for your kind attention.

Fran: if you double click on these words it brings up a box that
says ABC. If you then click on that box it opens a link that shows
the word you clicked on, and how it has been used in the lessons.
You can then fill in the meaning and the word will be saved with a
link back to the box whenever it appears in a lesson. So you can
build you own vocab list with just the words that give you trouble.

Dan,
Thanks so much for your response. However, I'm doing this on my iPad Air and it doesn't respond to double click. So, am I missing something or do you have any other ideas save doing this on a laptop? Many thanks. Fran

Fran: I have never used a iPad, only a MacBook, so I plead
ignorance. I did google the question and got a couple of hits
calling for a double-tap. Other than a slang term for shooting
someone twice, I have no idea what that means.
