New iPhone application

The new iPhone application just downloaded. The look & feel is vastly improved and closely matches the website, but it's got a pretty big problem.

The sound did not consistently work but, worse, when it did it turns off when the screen goes to sleep! That really does make it impossible to use.

This is a pretty typical problem with non-native applications. You save a bit on the development but you really do pay with quality. They just never have the feel of a real native application. The really big issue with the iPhone app is if you have a major problem, it's at least a 10-day turnaround to fix it with Apple's app store system.

Hi Jason,

No problem. It really isn't an issue since the website is so much better on a mobile device with the 2017 version. It would be a big issue for anyone who needed the app though.

Hi all - The new iOS update is now available. Version 4.0.2. This should resolve the audio play issues mentioned earlier.

Hi all - Another update about the IAC lesson audio. If you leave a lesson while you are part way through an IAC lesson then that position will be saved. So, you should be able to pick up just where you left off.

This is currently available on the desktop and Android app. Coming soon to the iOS app.

I'm still having problems with audio playback on the iOS app. Playback initially is fine, but if I use the microphone the app starts playing sound through the ear speaker, not the speakerphone as I'd expect.

I use the ipad app a lot and when the built in recording plays after i submit recording, the recording of rocket italiano only plays for a second then it mutes. Is everyone else having this problem on the ipad (and perhaps the iphone) also? Can it be fixed?

Hi Drew - We have been looking into this and cannot replicate it. What version of iOS are you running?

Also, what version of the app do you have? That should be visible in your itunes account.

Hi,
My biggest problem with the app is it will not work offline. So when I go to my country retreat where I have the environment to focus on some quality learning I can't because I don't have the internet or a mobile signal.

Could a download option be created?

Hi Ray - Being able to use various features while offline is in the works. Unfortunately I can't make any promises re timeframes as there are several more urgent issues in the works.
