Total Flashcard Option

I am rocking my lessons, but I find that my memory slips a little on words and phrases from 3 lessons prior to the one I'm currently working on. SO I have to go back to the flashcards for that particular lesson and review.

What would be AWESOME is having the ability to click "Toggle all completed lessons" which would enable the flashcards to randomly come from all the completed lessons so far. I could be quickly refreshing my 2.2 words and phrases while also getting fresh cards from 3.2 etc.

Other than that, keep up the great work!

I really like the flashcards too.  I would like to be able to review a module's worth of flashcards in random order.  Also, review just the "interactive audio lesson" as one set, the "language and culture lessons" as another set, and the "writing" flashcards as a third set for that module.

This would be particularly useful for the (Chinese) writing lessons since a lot of them don't have enough words to merit having flashcards.

On a different flashcard-related issue, when I change the settings to show Spanish on the front side of the cards and English on the flip side, the card stays the same: English front side, Spanish on reverse.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Dan, I also have this flashcard-related issue. And I'm having trouble with my new microphone. The old mic got broken, so we had to replace it. Do you have any suggestions.

Hi Britanny,

That's a pretty vague description of the problem.  Are you having a problem using it with the Rocket lessons or just in general?  Did you first go through your setup for speakers and headphones which also includes microphones and get it working there?

Yes Dan,
I did the latter, and the problem was just in general. Yet I looked more closely at the new mic, and saw that it has a built-in switch for the mic part. So I turned that on and it worked just fine. Thanks for being interested in helping me.
Chao for now,

Hi Dan/Robert/Brittany - I will look into this. It might be a problem with several languages by the looks. Thanks for the heads up!

As far as reviewing FlashCards from different parts of the course goes, I will add it to the wishlist to be looked at.

Thanks, Jason. I would definitely profit from having flash cards randomly come up from different parts of the course.

Is it possible to have the flash cards as a stand alone program?

Example there is a program called BYKI, perhaps Rocket Japanese can create flash cards files to download and use in this program.

I find flash cards are great for memory and word retention but Rocket Japanese is much better for grammar and language explanation and you learn a lot more about the language on this website than on flash cards.

I would really suggest creating flash cards files to be downloaded and used in pre existing program interfaces as flash cards are only good for memory retention.

Hi Tony - I think we would prefer keeping the FlashCards as part of our Rocket Languages "eco-system". Once we depart from that we don't have control over the content for language fixes and updates.

As mentioned in other posts we are looking at expanding the FlashCard functionality.

My thoughts exactly. I've been looking for a way to do this. I would love to be able to download flashcards from completed lessons onto my iphone and be able to review them on the go, in one larger, customisable set. It would be so helpful for retaining previously learned material, while still being able to move forward.

Anki has a system where certain words are reviewed with greater or lesser frequency, depending on how well the user remembers each word. If Rocket French could do something like that, it would be fantastic!

Otherwise, I love RF. I've returned after a long absence and I'm really enjoying it.

You can create flashcards from your vocabulary and then as you get better with certain words remove them from your vocabulary and/or flashcards.  Anki is great and I use it.
