Voice problems/IT question for Jason

Jason,

I am back on RF, yeah!! I updated to use Chrome on my laptop as instructed but I also have my iPhone 5 and an Android tablet when I'm on the go. They all have the same problems: (1) When I listened to the lessons and I repeated after Claire/Paul; the recording seemed fine until I clicked on the blue icon for comparison then it erased my recording/voice. (2) When I tried to do the "write it" exercise there was no voice instruction at all so I couldn't do that part of all the lessons that I have attempted so far. (3) Same for "know it" and "play it" (any time it involved voice recording) but worse for "play it". It didn't register at all or give me 25% and then asked me to check my recording device which is built in my laptop.

Any IT advice so I can move forward? I can't seem to find other people having the same problems so it must be just me or my devices.

Hi ML - Sorry, I missed this post. I assume you are using the Rocket Languages apps on your smartphone/tablet? Using Chrome to access Rocket Languages on your smartphone/tablet will not work due to the in-built security settings around recording audio. In saying that, we are looking to provide a workaround in the future.

I am not sure why that wouldn't work on your laptop. Have you checked the FAQs around System Requirements? There is info there on adjusting audio and mic settings.

If that doesn't resolve your issue then please let me know!

Hello Jason,

I understand the difficulties involving all the different technology modalities. I mainly use the tablet and phone for on-the-go: they have similar voice issues to the laptop: (1) I had the ability to compare at the beginning when I returned to RF after a long hiatus but lost it permanently for no apparent reasons. (2) the sound froze intermittently only when I was doing the tests. I would be working on "write it" but suddenly there wouldn't be any sound. I tried shut down and restart but it didn't seem to do the job.
My husband is in the technology profession and he checked everything that he could think of in vain. The only thing he suggested was to upgrade to Window 10. Is that a good advice?

Jason,
Sorry I forgot another problem which was probleme d'aujourd'hui - there was no sound from the tutor(s) but the laptop could record me perfectly. Any suggestions?
