I am working as a Native English Oral Teacher in China at the start of a 2nd academic year here in China.
This time I want to make a lot more effort to learn Chinese - to understand and speak Putonghua.
So I have signed up to 'Rocket Chinese Premium Online/Download Version + Free Rocket Chinese Survival Kit'.
I bought a Gretel W80 Android Smart Phone (MTK6515) from WalMart when the screen went on my Nokia N95 8GB phone. I notice there is a Android App (and for ios) for Rocket Languages.

The problem I have with my W80 Android phone, is is not being a genuine Android Market so never upgraded to working on Google Play Store. so I have to find other non-market download from.
I managed to get such Rocket+Languages.apk from this one:-

Having installed it to my W80, the Rocket Languages Android App V.0.1, does not seem to work to good! I click the on-screen Blue Button for Playback, bit nothing seems to happen, Same with the Red Button for Record
Perhaps I need the version 2.0 of the Rocket Languages Android App release?
But where (other than PlayStore) to download it from please?
Anyone had success using the Rocket Languages Android App?
Anyone tried the 'Rocket Languages' Android .apk?

My Samsung Galaxy IIIS has Rocket Languages and it seems to work fine. It's the July 13 2013 version. Don't know if this will help, but the app requires Android 2.3 and up. Most of the reviews on Google Play are good, except I did see a couple who had the same problem with record/playback. (that feature works well on my phone as well.) I did notice that it's not synced with my progress here on the site though.
