no playback button accessing via iphone

My power was off for a bit so I thought I'd try using the platform via my iphone for the first time. I was accessing the website using Safari, not the app. There was no playback button to replay what I recorded. Is this normal? It was hearing me and giving me scores, although sometimes it gave me 100 while also saying that ‘it didn’t get it'? Do you have to use the app on the iphone in order to get a playback button, or …  ?

We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble with Safari. Unfortunately, older versions of the browser are not compatible with voice recognition. Please make sure that you are using version 12+. I'm confused. Since my internet was down today, I thought I try downloading the Rocket app on my iphone. In addition to the app not being anywhere near as functional as just using the Safari browser (Vers. 15.3.1), which unfortunately does not provide a button to play back my own recording, the app is also missing the button  to play back what I've recorded. Is this just me and mine?

Thanks for your post. Unfortunately it's not possible to play back your own recording on the app, I'm sorry. It's a feature we would love to add, so as soon as technology allows, we will be including that feature. In the meantime, Chrome and new versions of Safari are your best bet.

Margaret, my iOS Safari version is the latest at 15.3. Are you perhaps talking about Safari on a Mac, rather than on an iphone?

My apologies for any confusion. Playback of your own recording is not available on the app, and upon testing, it doesn't look as though it's an option on the mobile version of Safari either, I'm sorry. It does work in Safari on a Mac, or in Chrome.

Ok, Margaret. I doubt that I'd be inclined to do it, but I assume that Chrome, when downloaded to the iphone, would include playback?

Actually, Chrome on an iPhone doesn't appear to be compatible with Rocket Record at all, unfortunately. A colleague from the IT team and myself tested it a couple of days ago, because I had planned on recommending it to you, but we couldn't get Chrome to record anything. My colleauge has made a note to investigate whether there is anything we can do to change this, but I don't have a timeframe that I can give you, I'm sorry. So, unfortunately you will only be able to listen to your own recordings on a computer with either the Chrome (recommeded) or Safari browsers. 

I'm sure that's not the information you were hoping for, but I will let you know when Chrome on a mobile is working.

No real problem at all for me, Margaret, and I thank you for exploring all the possibilities. Only twice, under extraordinary circumstances, have I even considered using my iphone for this purpose. Chrome on a computer is definitely the way to go. But I gather that some people use their phones routinely, and figured I must be missing something. The best use I can think of for the phone is maybe driving down the highway listening to the long Travelogues narratives in French in stereo, although I'd probably only make it 30 miles before her dreamy voice started lulling me to sleep.
