hi

Can anyone tell me if the Spanish version on Rocket is South American/ Mexican or European Spanish. I know that Portuguese from Europe is quite different to Portuguese from Brazil.

Thanks

Hi Sebongela,

The Spanish course we offer is Latin American Spanish.

Kind Regards

Hi Sebongela

When I studied Spanish, I wanted to learn Castillian Spanish, rather than Latin American (some vocabulary differences, and the accent).  A Spaniard I worked with asked why?  He said everyone in Spain is going to know you're foreign anyway.  If I was learning Spanish again, I'd have no hesitation learning Latin American.

Happy Easter!

Ciao

Thank you does put it in perspective somewhat. May just listen to Coffee Break Spanish. Want to brush up on my Spanish, as I want to visit Mallorca. I know most or a lot of Euriopeans speak English, but still like to have some basic knowledge. DO speak a bit, but not nearly enough.

I can't recommend Palma de Mallorca highly enough, Sebongela.  We intended seeing the island but loved walking around Palma so much that we focsued most of our time there - so many amazing places and historic quarters to visit, and a thoroughly lovely place.

HI ChrisM108

Thanks for the information. We have watched a muder/ detective series. Mallorca Files. Very light hearted and not gory. Apparently it was filmed in Mallorca and it just looks lovely. Would not want to go at the height of summer, though. Too crowded. I have a few things on my bucket list. The UK's countryside for one. I think that is one of the advantages to living in Europe, everything is significantly closer. Most of Philip's family have moved to Portugal and that is something we have considered too. Has distinct advantages for us, but a big move and needs careful consideration.

I love history and am facinated  the European history. At school in SA most history was South African. Like most history very biased, due to the Apartheid era. I would actually be interested to know what they teach there now. Very different I'm sure

Hope the Easrer Bunny brought you lots of chocolate.

A presto

Sharon
