Hallo,
My name is Gay-Lynn. I am a beginner with learning conversational German. We have a favorite phrase in our family to lower tension when an argument is brewing. The phrase is "you may be right". It acknowledges the other person's point of view without capitulating one's own right to be right. What would the translation in German be please? Can you do an audio clip so that I get the right translation please?
Thank you,
GayLynn

Hi Gay Lynn,
In that case I would use the informal form and say "Du magst Recht haben." I can't attach audio to this post but if you use the search option you can find similar audio examples. In the interactive audio lesson, 21.2 House Chores for example Mathias says "Du hast ja Recht."
Hope that helps!
Paul
