I have trouble understanding certain speakers in my lessons. Especially some of the men. Other speakers are much easier. Does anyone else have this problem?

Would love others' take on this. The woman I am listening to now is wonderful. But like I said, some voices, particularly the men are hard to understand--for me. I get that the platform wants to give us experiences with a variety of speakers, but when you are trying to learn and get the basics, it is really frustrating.

Hi ArdenMage,
I'm sorry to hear that you are finding some of the male voices difficult to understand. You are correct that we try to use as many different voices as we can so that learners can be exposed to different voices and accents, but we do not want this to be at the detriment of the learner.
One thing I would suggest is slowing down the audio speed to make the audio clearer and easier to pick up. You can do this on the audio tracks through the playback control menu, or across the whole course (including in the activities) by clicking on the settings gear in the top-right corner and then “Tutor Audio Speed.”
I hope this helps!

Hi, I to have trouble understanding the men speakers, the women speakers are a little easier to under-stand but when this happens I always try to sound out the Japanese on my own! It really gets more challanging the more I learn Japanese. :)

In Level 2 Spanish there is a female that I struggle with. Even when I slow her down she slurs together words. This is common in some parts of the Spanish speaking world and I suppose Level 2 should be harder, but some days it is frustrating.

I just started Intermediate in Latin American Spanish (Level 8) and the speed in which some of the things Mauricio says is MUCH too fast! It's actually discouraging! Yes, we can slow the speed down but this program must recogize the level at which the student is at and teach accordingly. Some of the speech is not at intermediate!
