Vocabulary, and How To Use Flashcards

I'm new to the app, and I'm not sure how much time to spend with the flashcards. Am I supposed to keep re-doing them until all of the words are easy? Or am I supposed to take my best shot a couple of times before moving on to the next step? I can't possibly memorize 50 words in one or two passes.

Totally up to you. My technique is to go through the flashcards and mark it EASY only if I answered without hesitation, GOOD if I got it but had to think on it or I got it wrong but was close,  and HARD if I had no clue. I did this once, then moved on to the next activity (listening) using the same technique. Once I got through them all, I would go through again until I turned all of the circles green. Initially I was going for all EASY, but that proved frustrating. The lessons reinforce each other, so the variety is nice.

All of that said, modify as you best works for you. There is no right way to use Rocket Languages.

I agree with Scott and in addition, recommend frequent revision of previous lessons to get words into the long term memory.

Great point Chris and I do this, but not through this site. I use Anki and created cards with all the vocabulary.  Anki is nice because it shows you cards you are not good at much more often than the cards you know well.

I agree Scott.  I will be uodating Anki as soon as I get back on my feet with Spanish.  The spaced repitition of Anki is very useful for long-term memory retention.

I also recommend Language Transfer https://www.languagetransfer.org/complete-spanish. It's unique and free (unless one chooses to make a donation).

I had not seen that before, thanks Chris!

¡Hola a todos!

Thank you for your question and thanks to everyone for their great recommendations.

I just wanted to mention that the activities located at the bottom of each lesson are intended to be reinforcement exercises. This means that we don't expect users to complete all of them with ease immediately after finishing a lesson. Rather, they are designed to be revisited as you progress through the course. In other words, completing the activities right after the lesson won't necessarily help you retain the vocabulary in your long-term memory. However, you can return to them at different intervals to reinforce your learning.

Feel free to shoot any more questions our way!

¡Saludos!

These are all great suggestions. I think it would be nice to have all vocab for each module in a separate tab, rahter than have to go into each module, then each section. I know you can save favorites, but would be nice to also have them all together. I'm going back trhough and writing down each word by hand to help me learn better and practice my writing and use of accents. It could be a big help!

I have passed on a suggestion to the team to try adding a central flashcards system. They have told me that they are going to look into it and try to add it to the next update.
