I just posted this in response to a Spanish question but thought this might be useful to all. As opposed to sites such as Google Translation, this one will give you real examples of how words are used in sentences in both your target language as well as your mother tongue. I've found the site incredibly useful for doing any kind of translation work:

Thank you for posting that. I will make good use of it. I will see how effective it is with Chinese in the future.

I checked the website and it's fast. Alas, Linguee currently has mostly European languages with translations to/from English as dominant. Below is a quote from their website's Frequently Asked Questions.
"Which language pairs are available?
At present, Linguee is available for English-German, English-French, English-Portuguese, English-Spanish, and other languages on Linguee.de (German), Linguee.fr (French), Linguee.pt (Portuguese), and Linguee.es (Spanish). Within the year of 2013, further languages such as Chinese, Japanese, and Russian will be offered."
Check it out and see if what you want is there.
