Consonant Characters Pronunciation

I've been going through the Writing section and trying to pronounce each consonant, but every single time I get a 0% rating, even though it says in Korean writing that I pronounced it correctly. Does the VR not work for single consonants? I even had my husband (native Korean born and raised) say it several times, and it's always wrong.
