Hello Everyone I've joined this forum today and have been studying spanish for a little while, I've just downloaded Rocket Spanish and look forward to enjoying the course I'd love to chat to other students on the phone for encouragement every now and again i I have many books, cd's and videos in Spanish to help me, though I get a bit lonely talking to myself and a little self conscious   So glad I found this forum I'm also a member of this forum from Colombia which is great, __http://www.colombianblog.com__ though they are primarily in english they have a spanish section (I don't go in yet as my spanish is still beginners level) and are a great bunch

Hello Carol, Don't be discouraged, everyone starts out in more or less the same way. Simply keep on playing the Audio and repeating aloud, play the lessons as many times as you need until the Spanish starts sounding like second nature. Even if you don't fully get the lesson, jump onto the next one...not too far ahead but just so you have something different to listen to. Use the books once you have started understanding the spoken words in the conversations.... Use your new found vocabulary around your house and when ever you get the chance like when you greet people say Hola instead of hello and so on. Read through the forum, there some great ideas to help you in here. Good luck and make sure you keep at it. Mauricio.

Hi everybody I joined today and downloaded everything on my hard disk and directly had my first lesson. It is great and I am confident it will help me a lot in finally managing the Spanish language! Two years ago I had an intensive one to one 3 day course in Guatemala which helped a lot except, once back home, you do not practice what you learn so you never become fluent! I hope that with this I will finally become fluent one day and no longer think about what I want to say in any other language but Spanish! I can switch between Dutch (my mothertongue ... well Flemish was my mother tongue), French (as Belgian national the second language) and English (the language I used for more than 20 years business wise and also the daily language I speak in as I live in Scotland!). I hope that one day I can add Spanish to this list! Best regards

:D Hi there! From the sound of it you will be fluent in no time, you seem to be able to switch between languages with no problem. I wish I could do the same, I stuggle with the simplest of things such as estas and estoy and hablo and hablas. Determined to carry on though because it has been my life long ambition to speak another language. I holiday in Spain four or five times per year and visit small villages where English is not spoken as well as on the coast so I would love to communicate with the people who I meet there. Good Luck!
