Spanish schools Lake Atitlan, Guatemala

I'm going to the Lake Atitlan region in Guatemala to study Spanish this Feb thru March. Has anyone attended any of the schools in the Lake Atitlan region? I'm trying to decide between schools in San Marcos and San Pedro. Any suggestions? Thanks John

There is more happening in San Pedro than San Marcos and is probably a better place to stay long term unless you are fully into meditation,yoga etc . I understand from various sources that the Cooperative school is one of the better ones and gets good reviews. I don't know if you aware that currently tourism/visitors to Atitlan has hit rock bottom ,due to algae in the Lago. I don't know if this has affected attendances at the schools. night life in the villages or quaility of drinking water etc.
