Bug in Speech recognition - cuts out

Macbook pro m1 max
and
iphone 12
both latest OS installed and updated

Using Chrome on the computer and the App on the phone

This is a new issue.

When speaking, for example

Hear It! Say It!

the Speech recognition cuts out half way through the phase, although it has been recorded when I press the button to hear myself back.
This if definitely a bug, and is demonstrable on two devices, the laptop and the mobile app.

Can you please advise when this will be fixed as it is making learning impossible

Thank you

Do you use a bluetooth headset? I have long seen this same issue, but it only occurs with my bluetooth headsets (I have 2). I have submitted a ticket with the support folks but they have turned it over to the IT guys with no fix date. I suspect this is why they recommend using wired headsets. You can contact support to see if they have any solutions for you, as perhaps there is some technique that will work for you.

BTW, the link button does not work in the forum. I used it above and obviously it is not a link.

Hi Scott
Thanks for that, no I don't use a bluetooth headset, great suggestion though. I have used a wired neadset, the lap top microphones and the phone microphone.

Comforting to know that I am not alone with this problem, they need to get it sorted out, I would hate to have to ask for my money back, as it is a great course in other respects.

Cheers

I would definitely contact support. They did have me change some settings in Chrome, which helped but only temporarlily in my case. Good luck!

Hi Petax,

We apologise for the inconveniences that this is causing. I have responded to your email that you sent into support with some tips. I hope this helps!

For future readers, I got a wired headset for Christmas. Now the voice recognition works instantly and much more consistent in hearing what I say. Totally different experience. I don't understand why they can't support bluetooth, but if you are using bluetooth and are frustrated, try a wired headset (on Chrome of course).
