OK, I am the kind of person that when I study something new I have to understand completely section, by section before moving to the next one. I think that might not work here in Spanish. On section 1.1 I am having an issue with the pronunciation of the vocabulary words. Take F for example, F is pronounced as "ef-ay" and G is pronounced as "Hotah" but in the practice F: feliz is not pronounced as ef-ay-liz or gata is not pronounced hotah-ata. It is hard to type what I mean without saying it... I hope this makes sense because I need help with it... I guess my question is why when you pronounce a letter in the alphabet it does not have the same sound when saying a word

Hola Dave! Let me see if I can help you out here. For starters, G is not pronounced "ho-tah"... that the letter J. G is pronounced "hay". As for why they don't sound quite the same when you're pronouncing something... let me see if this English equivalent will help. Our letter P is pronounced "pee", but in the word "paper" you don't hear "pee-aper"... the letter C is pronounced "see", but you don't har that in "cat" or "certain". I hope this makes a bit of sense. Don't dwell on the alphabet... just go with the flow. I know how you feel.... I have to understand all the nuts and bolts of everything too before I move on. I'm a little obsessive-compulsive that way...
