Greetings,
My second questions deals with the second reason for using cual, when the person or thing to which the relative pronoun refers is unclear.
"The employee of the Vereda company, who was in the news, is going to give a press conference." Here la caul is used.
"El empleado de la compania Vereda, la cual estaba en las noticias, va a dar una conferencia de prensa"
But if one said, "el que estaba en las noticias" it would mean that the employee had been in the news, not the company.
I don't see this. if you look at the original sentence, an in particular, "who was in the news", the who is referring to the employee not the company. I would use "which" if I meant company. Please explain.
Thank you,

Hola Henk. I agree with you. As far as I can tell, the book's discussion here is incorrect and confusing.
