Quieres vs Desea

Do you want to open an account with us? I thought the translation should be ¿Quieres abrir una cuenta con nosotros? instead it says ¿Desea abrir una cuenta con nosotros?.

Hola Aurora, Either one could be used and be correct, just a different choice of words. Note the use of desea the formal usage as it's a business situation, if querer was used, the bank clerk would use quiere, also in the formal. Saludos, Ricardo
