In 12.3 Rocket Spanish -Chilean Literature- we find the sentence:
Estaba pensando que te enseñe bien .(Which is yo in the present subjunctive)
Which translates as:
I was thinking that I had taught you well.
Should it not be enseñé (preterite tense) or because there is doubt, it should be in the subjunctive.
John
subjunctive or preterite

Hola John,
I think it should be the subjunctive but I am not certain. Perhaps our friend and native speaker Cristian Montes de Oca will see this and advise us. I bought a book a few months ago titled The Spanish Subjunctive Up Close by Eric Voght. It is part of the Practice Makes Perfect series and it's a good book. It can be found at Amazon for a very reasonable price.

Muchas gracias Rich
I have acually bought this book and it is very helpful and very detailed.
I'm hoping Cristian will pick this up. Not an easy area of the language to master. As you said "The Twilight Zone".
Maybe you can help with any easier one I've come across this week. Is sobre an envelope for posting. I also see it can mean "about".
Saludos ,

Hola John,
¡Ya te recuerdo John ! Sí " The Twilight Zone". Sobre tu pregunta. As a noun it is an envelope or a packet. As a preposition it is "about" also it is: on, on top of , over.
Saludos amigo,
Rich

Hola Amigos
It is Enseñé with a é, they might end up with a mistake! so it is in preterite...Taught, enseñé!
without the accent on the e, it would not make sense...
Saludos!

Hola John,
De nada amigo. Algún día me gustaría hablar español con soltura también. Para mi es una meta muy importante. Sí, cada día , poco a poco es mejor. Cuando hablando a dos personas, se dice "su" ayuda. No se dice "tus" ayuda.
Hasta la próxima,
Rich
