Tengo que ir al banco. or Tengo que para ir al banco. If the second sentence is correct, how does "para" improve the sentence?

Perhaps the sentence was "Tengo que ir para el banco". Then it would make sense. Randy

The second sentence is definitely wrong. "Tengo que ir para el banco" although it does sound a bit funny to me I'm sure I've heard it before being used to say that you are "heading towards the bank". Hope that helps. Mauricio.
