the conjugation of declararse

In lesson 10.2, Amy said that declararse means confessing one's love, however, in the sentence, it's conjugated as “le declaró”: mi padre le declaró su amor. Shouldn't it be “mi padre se declaró su amor”?

¡Hola JinH!

Thanks for your question! You've brought an error in the lesson to our attention here.

The sentence Mi padre le declaró su amor “My father declared his love to her” actually uses the non-reflexive verb declarar “to declare,” and not the reflexive verb declararse “to declare (oneself) / to propose” as Amy indicates.

Our apologies for the mistake. I will pass this on to the Spanish team for them to look into!

Saludos,

Liss

Nice Jin - been doing this 2 years and I think it is the first no kidding mistake (I have seen typo type stuff, like not putting paranethese or something similiar). Congrats!

As always, thanks to Liss for her prompt and candid reply.
