Use of "le" in 2.1 Taking a Tour

I don't understand how "le" is used in this sentence: ¿Qué tipo de tour le gustaría hacer?  but is not used in this sentence: ¿Qué actividades quiere hacer?  What is the essential difference in these two sentences, and why would one merit use of le and the other would not?  And there are other uses of le in 2.1 that are similarly confounding, but this is the most stark example of a seeming inconsistency.

Frustrating!  Any help would calm me down.

Hola George,
Gustar  is used with an indirect object pronoun in this case "le",  you formal. You can look in the language and culture section  for an explanation. Briefly, the first question  with a literal translation : What type of tour would be  pleasing to you to do? Beware of literal  translations they can be hazardous! There are other verbs  encantar, faltar importar etc. that are used with an IO pronoun.  Hope this helps.
 Saludos,
Ricardo

That's a truly helpful link.  I'll be watching more of their videos and diving a bit deeper.  It's a good complement to Rocket Language.  Thanks again.
