Someone please correct me if I'm off on this question about the "was/were" patterns.....
I have a question about the "was/were" equivalent in spanish. Can estaba, estabas, estabamos, etc....be used the same way as estuve, estuviste, and so on? Additionally, what about the Yo fui, tu fuiste, el/ella fue, nosotros fuimos pattern? If not, when do I use one or the other?
For example... "I was walking...."
1. Yo estaba caminando......or...
2. Yo estuve caminando
Thanks!!

Hola. You're asking important questions, but they're not really questions that can be answered quickly. I strongly suggest you get hold of a good grammar book to supplement your Rocket Spanish lessons. At the very least, take a look at the information Rocket Spanish provides at __http://www.rocketlanguages.com/spanish/spanish_grammar_contents1.php__, especially the sections dealing with the verbs SER and ESTAR and the section entitled "Talking about What Happened in the Past."
