I'm I gonna get this?

I am very concerned that I may not get this. It's only my 4th day, I was just concerned that my progress is very slow.

And I am unable to rotate my picture correctly!

Stick with it.  Once you've completed the first couple of lessons without error you then will have the option available to rotate your photo.  :)

Ok, so maybe that's not true.  But stick with it.  the repetition and practice is what helps it stick.  Everyone progresses at different rates and the advantage of RS is that you can do it at your own pace and review as much as is necessary.

What hefay said.
Stick with it.
If learning a language was easy, the world would be filled with polyglots.
Learning a new language is hard, and it takes a long time.
Don't believe the internet hype about becoming fluent in 3 months or whatever.
Study every day.
Claim little victories, like recognizing a single word in a sentence and realize you are learning.
When you get confused, ask a question here. People like hefay will help you, or in a worst case scenario, me.
A phrase I learned this morning: "La práctica hace al maestro"...practice makes perfect.
Buen suerte (good luck)
Dan

I will have to disagree with my esteemed colleagues regarding their recommendation to stick with it. Both they and I are now speaking with reasonable fluency in Spanish and it is indeed a wonderful thing - but it comes at a cost (i.e., years of investment).

When you're first starting to learn a language is typically the most encouraging as progress is normally fast learning greetings, asking people how they're doing, etc. It gets discouraging when you start hitting the intermediate levels as progress is really hard to see from week to week. So if your progress is a concern to you after several days of being at this - barring a total reset of your expectations - I would recommend you invest your time doing something else.

[I realize this is a very unpopular thing to say and apologies to anyone for any offense taken - advice was solicited and that is how I see it.]

Steven, as long as you refer to me as an esteemed colleague, you can disagree with me in whatever you want.  :)

In other news, CNN is reporting that due to the recommendation of a Rocket Spanish user, who calls himself Steven-W15, a large number of new language learners, especially those learning Spanish, have fled and sales are at an all-time low.  FoxNews has stated that it's trying to contact super user Steven-W15, but it appears that his account has been suspended.  The two users Dan-H24 and the-hefay, two esteemed colleagues of Steven-W15, refuse to comment and although their voice mailboxes are not receiving messages, there are instructions on how to contact their lawyers.

Necesitaba una imagen más feroz que el Llanero Solitario para infundir miedo en el corazón de mis enemigos...

Hola Steven! How can one spend years at learning a language without sticking to it, i.e. practicing?
Manson, just keep practicing your new language. Like Hefay and Dan said, you got to stick with it and take victory in the small steps. If necessary, find other people with whom you can practice and try listening to local radio stations and Spanish movies. Every small recognition counts as a victory!
Until next time; a fellow struggler!

Mi linea favorita de la nueve versión del Llanero Solitario es "you know what 'tonto' means in Spanish, right?"

Gracias, Ricardo! Muy necesito algunas palabras de animo; y Manson tambien! Eh, Steven. No understandamente tu sentencio 'Es claro que me disfraz no funciona. . .'  What does it mean in English? Dan, what is that book's name in English? so that I may look into getting it myself.
Adios por ahora,
                                   Brittany

P. S.  Sorry, my keyboard doesn't have the Spanish accents and punctuation.

Steven wrote, "it is clear that my disguise does not work."
I did not quote a book Brittany. It is a line from the remake of "The Lone Ranger" movie with Arnie Hammer as the Ranger and Jonny Depp as Tonto.
Also, it is possible to select a different keyboard in your settings menu so that you can easily use  á, ñ, ¿ and ¡. And it doesn't affect your ability to type in English.

Gracias Dan! I'd change the keyboard settings, but I'm using my Parents keyboards. I don't have one of my own, yet. And thanks for telling me that "LLanero Solitario" is Spanish for "Lone Ranger." Man, I've got a ways to go with understanding the Spanish language yet.
Adios,
                Brittany
