In Planning a trip - the sentence "Me gustaria que fueramos con ellos." Why imperfectivo de subjuntivo? Would the future or present tense not be more appropriate? Me gusta que iremos con ellos.

That should have been Me gustaria que iremos con ellos

The verb "gustar" and verbs like it require the subjunctive so "iremos" would not work.

-conditional- que subjunctive imperfect is the way these sentences are constructed. Sorry I can't give a better explanation than that. The literal translation in English sounds a bit awkward:
- It would please me if we were going with them.
