I receive a Spanish Word of the Day from SpanishDict.com. Todays word was "el programa" and the example of use given was: "¿A qué hora sale ese programa? - What time is that (tv) program on?" Can this be correct? Surely it should be something like "At what time does this/that program end? I think it is sale/salir that is confusing me although strictly speaking salir is to leave or exit.
Many thanks,

Salir has many meanings, and one of them is "to appear." It's used that way when referring to issues of newspapers and magazines, and, apparently, to television programs.
Words often have multiple meanings--in English as well as in Spanish. (The Oxford English Dictionary devoted 23 pages to meanings of the word "set"!) A good, large Spanish/English dictionary is essential. Also very helpful are sites such as WordReference.com at __http://www.wordreference.com/es/translation.asp?tranword=welcome__.
