I like the way it focuses on the parts of a common conversation. Things that it could do better:
1. Make some games or reading lessons that you can do silently. Face it: a lot of us have time to study in places that we just don't want to be talking into a microphone.
2. Have your web app work with more than just Chrome.
Other than those two items, it is a great platform to learn a language on. I would recommend it over most others.
Unfortunately I am one of the Rocket Languages failures. I spent my first few months doing what I believed the course asked me to do -- one lesson per day with extra study. After 4 months I had finished the first level of Spanish. I could say hello to folks, order a simple meal in a restaurant -- check in to a hotel, etc., but when I met with my Spanish speaking friends I could not understand what they were saying . So following the recommended learning path was not working for me.
I also noted that the course admins reward points as an indication of learning. Yet, in my case, I could not see any relationship between points and my knowledge of the material. Also a glaring weakness is that one can earn points by repeatedly answering the same questions. I found that I was memorizing the answers to all of the questions. I then thought if I could present the materials to myself in a different way, I could learn the materials better. I began pulling down many of the lessons at one time -- taking them into a little program I developed that would then present the material to me in various ways. My hope in doing this is that by so doing, I would more effectively learn the materials.

The issue was not about whether or not you were trying to game the points the system. The issue was that it is impossible to get 50,000 points on a continuous daily basis without manipulating the system, which as you allude to in your review, you did. It's not fair to our other users to let that continue to happen.
I have tried other apps, this works the best for me. I really like the download/offline mode so I can practise without the internet. I am making good progress. Feliz aprendiendo, gracais.
I found rocket language really helpful. Out of all the Spanish courses (I tried, and of course failed) this course was the easiest, and most enjoyable. I can easily spend one hour learning and speaking out loud new terms for Spanish. This is a good website- and overall, I give Rocket language a thumbs up! Five stars for you- :D Now, WHERES MY COOKIES
We tried Pimsleur and Duolingo each for a month before finding Rocket Spanish. Two weeks into RS and we’re pleased and feel like we’re learning USEFUL conversational Espanol. We wsh RS allowed us our own learning profile on one account like Pimsleur does. Pimsleur Level 1 to us as Beginners was VERY boring and far less practical than Rocket. And, Duolingo is a nice phone app for vocabulary but we learned very little practical conversation Spanish. So for our money and the time we will invest Rocket was a very good find.
I love this program! I'm never bored. Instead, I'm completely engaged. The teachers offer tips that are incredibly helpful in learning a new language. I'll be telling everyone about this learning program. Thank you!
I've tried a number of language learning systems, and Rocket Spanish is by far the best fit for me. I've already recommended it to a number of friends.
I've been using the Rocket Spanish for 53 days, and while it has some good points, it's not an effective program for learning Spanish. The co-host, Mauricio, does not speak clearly enough for a beginner to understand, and there are some times when he is clearly not saying the sentence that is on the screen. I might recommend this program for business travelers, since that is mainly what the lessons are about (getting a hotel, booking a flight, ordering in a restaurant), but even then, you won't become fluent. You will just learn what you need to know to get around in that country. I've just requested a refund.

Hi Jennifer - Thanks for your feedback. Getting to grips with hearing and understanding a new language can take a while, and has proven to be very person dependent. I would recommend that you listen to a Spanish radio station while you are at work or commuting. It will help you get used to the rhythm of Spanish and make Mauricio easier to understand! Of course, your refund will be processed asap!
It helps me to learn a lot of Spanish in a short amount of time
You can learn almost any kind of language and it translate to the language you currently speak. Platico en español todos los dias! I started using Rocket Spanish about 7 years ago, when I spoke almost no Spanish. I first visited México in 2007, with maybe 10 words. Thanks to Rocket Spanish, I was able to move to México and I can now speak with people every day. I especially liked being able to practice in my car, so I could dedicate some time every day and focus on the content, without worrying what I sounded like. I now read and dream in Spanish.
