Very nice interface with many opportunities to record yourself and play back to compare with the native speaker. I've enjoyed learning from the conversations, and also being able to practice participating in the conversations (playing the role of one person, then the other). The app for iPhone and iPad works well overall but has a few glitches with the voice recording function -- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The web browser interface for Google Chrome works perfectly. I am looking forward to continuing on in my lessons as I've only started module 2.
I have tried Rosetta Stone in the past as well as Duolingo and Babbel. I feel that Rocket Languages has been the most beneficial out of all of the ones that I named previously. I really like the amount of content as well as the reinforcement that you get from previous lessons as you go forward. Another great feature is the ability to download the conversations. I have also noticed that as your progress the speed at which they speak increases. This is really nice because it gives you a chance to attune your ears to the language when it is being spoken at a faster speed.
I definitely liked the price point of this program compared to Rosetta Stone. You definitely get more bang for your buck with this program. The amount that I have picked up on in just a couple of weeks has been awesome. Would highly recommend this product!
I am learning a lot and it actually seems possible after all these years I can be/will be conversational with my Spanish speaking only rehab patients. I think that is pretty cool to be able to truly understand and reach my patients so i can give the best care.
I have found it to be very helpful. Good pace. Lot’s of reinforcement of past learning lessons as you go forward. Would purchase again. Oriented to beginner. Well rated. Feel it is the best of available options. Gracias.
So far it's a great learning technique. I like how the audio mentions other ways that a word could be used or other ways to answer questions. I think it will be a test on how well I've learned once I try to start speaking Spanish to someone else since it's still different than learning via computer and audio lessons. I do like the reading and writing reinforcement since it helps when you see what you're learning to say instead of just repeating words.
Just started, but enjoying it so far! Love how many different things it offers to help you learn and retain the information. I continually go back to review and refresh what I've learned to keep it in my mind at all times. Looking forward to more lessons.
Rocket Spanish is the best online language program I have ever found. I truly enjoy each of the modules and feel I have increased my Spanish knowledge immensely. Each module is very well put together and if you follow through each of the courses you will have a working knowledge of Spanish that will allow you to converse with native speakers. Though I have had Spanish courses in high school even the beginner modules added to my knowledge. I feel much more confident with my Spanish skills and try to complete one whole module weekly. At this rate I should become very conversant if not fluent within 6-12 months.
I was skeptical to say the least about learning a language at 25 after having to take spanish In high school and not retaining any of it other than to count to 10.
I have had rocket language for 2 days. And it is absolutely blowing my mind. I know 2 days is kind of crazy to post a review but I'm actually excited about this and just had to. I do all the parts of it the flash cards the spelling and the listening part. It seems daunting at first when you listen to a 30 minute audio at the beginning of a lesson and don't take everything in at first. But once you complete 100% activities on each lesson and really put in the effort you can do each lesson in an hour maybe an hour and a half and really walk away from that lesson feeling like you are moving forward. I work construction and a lot of my coworkers and friends on site are latino and just in two days they are surprised by what I have learned. To the point to where 2 of them have downloaded the english versions to start their own path at learning another language. I know I have a long way to go, but I'm so excited to learn this that i don't see myself wanting to slow down! Thank you rocket language and amy and Mauricio, you're making this much easier than expected.
I've truly enjoyed the lessons and the tools provided in these courses. I already can tell my pronunciation and understanding of Spanish are improving! I make a point to listen to at least one lesson a day. The courses are structured to build on each one previous so you keep using the vocabulary you've already, which I think is very helpful. This was definitely an excellent purchase!
Here is what I find different about Rocket Languages, the focus is on learning to SPEAK Spanish. The other programs I’ve used focused on written language. I love that the narrators speak slowly enough so I can understand the words and so I can learn to pronounce the words correctly. The lessons make sense and have real world applications. For me, this is far and away the best Spanish program I have used. I already feel more confident speaking Spanish and I find the correct words come to mind faster. I try to do one lesson a day. The lessons take about an hour. You dont have to do that much, but I really want to learn to speak the language so I am committed to spending the time necessary.
I did call customer service once because I could not get the playback to work. The person who helped me could not have been more attentive to my needs. She told me exactly what to do to fix the problem.
All in all, this is the only Spanish program I would recommend. I do think Duolingo is good for beginners who want to find out if they are committed to learning a language, however once you know you want to learn, then switch over to Rocket Languages. I hope you will be as happy as I am about the program.
