Find out what actual users have to say about our courses through their Rocket French reviews.
Just started but after having tried out several others, love the way this program works. Hopefully I will continue to move smoothly from lesson to lesson. This is a great way to review a language you have previously learned and want to come back to.
The interface is excellent, and the lesson design is excellent. I've tried Rosetta Stone and another program before, and I find Rocket French far better.
The voice recognition, however, is lame. Short words are near impossible. My accent is doubtless awful, but I can mutter a vulgar epithet and get 25%, whereas it will tell me, "Sorry, I didn't get that" on repeat efforts at "gros." This feature sorely needs work.
Pretty happy overall with the medium for learning. I often use it on the go, walking or driving, when I can't check the screen, so the spelling of some words are not obvious until I get time to review them. Otherwise quite happy.
I like this program a lot. I have it for two languages. It is good for learning grammar, both in sentence structure and formality levels.
The only thing i would like more is if you were taught more vocabulary right from the beginning because learning everything as part of a sentence can make it hard to separate words for me.
But i like that they have sections and tips and explanations to help you learn to speak the languages like a native. It let's you know why you say something a certain way and explains what each thing means literally while telling you why a native uses a particular phrase instead of how Google translate would put it literally.
Rocket french est bien tellement pour apprendre langue francais.
jessaie d,approndre le francaise et de bien parler.
J,ai voyage en France et c,est tellemont beau. les gens de France sont gentils et chaleureux. La democratie de France est si celebre. Je voudrais aller en France encore une fois. Monaco est aussi tres beau. La paix soit la France et son peuple.
Pros:
The reinforcement of the Hear it, Say It, Write it and Know it activities.
The flash cards - and the ability to customize your flashcards.
Learning phrases as opposed to just vocabulary
The point, progress and streak information.
The Rocket Fuel emails are very helpful.
Cons:
I could locate only one pronunciation lesson. It would be help to have more. (Note: that lessons indicates that there is further help included in lesson 3.6, but that doesn't appear to be a pronunciation lesson.)
Some of the audio, done by the native speaker, is unclear. Either the first portion of the audio is cut short, or there is lack of clarity in the audio.
Because of the clarity issues of the audio, I become quickly frustrated. I've verified that the issue is with the audio itself by trying a headset and bluetooth speakers, comparing them with other audios. Unfortunatly, this single issue is my reason for cancellation. :(
Great and user friendly learning program!I decide to try Rocket French because I wante to learn some french before a trip to France. at first i want to go to french class but it was alittle difficult for me and i dont know good class in my city. this method prepare situation that learn french with native accent. I suggest to everyone try this interesting method of learning that supplies different popoular languages in the world .
I really liked the full audio transcripts for the lessons that I could listen to anywhere , then work on the remaining lesson pieces when I had time.
It's great that the lessons are based on useful situations.
After much deliberation and internet searches reading reviews of French courses I took the plunge and purchased Rocket French. I preferred once-off purchase with lifetime access to updates versus monthly subscription based courses for a start.
My available time for daily study /practise is limited so being able to download the audio lessons to practise during my daily commute is great as well as the ability to go at my own pace. Coming from a zero French knowledge base the structure of the course encourages me to continue with the next lesson as at the end of each lesson I am able understand the lesson conversation (which sounded like gibberish at the beginning of the lesson to me!)
I like Rocket French and have found it helpful, but if you're a person who doesn't memorize sentences well in order to repeat them back orally or in writing, you may get frustrated. I can actually converse in French at an intermediate level, but I'm not able to memorize these lesson passages because, in the moment of studying, their only importance is as text to attach to my brain long enough to recant for the machine. Frankly, I don't learn fluidity from memorizing but from composing my own sentences, so I much prefer studying the vocabulary and the grammar, and those lessons here are very good and give me the needed tools. I think it would be a lot of work, but it would be cool if Rocket French could restructure for an experience that involved less rote repetition of longer texts. If you don't think you'd be disappointed by this, then it may be perfect for you.
I bought the rocket french course after a lot of dilemma as there are millions of language programmes on the internet, however, I don't regret on my decision because the course and its contents are absolutely fabulous.
Initially I found it difficult as I didn't had any basic knowledge but after completing a couple of modules I am feeling confident.
