Love it. I've been working with Rocket French for nearly five years. Many would be proficient with French by now, but language study for me is difficult. Along the way, I travelled to France two times and managed adequately; I could generally make my wishes known in French. One benefit of studying French has been to learn more about my native language, English. It's amazing what I've learned about English, especially regarding vocabulary, and sometimes even grammar.
Although I'm very satisfied with RF, I scored "buying again" as a one-star because learning one language is all I can manage.
Rocket Languages is an excellent program and the repetition of the different activities really helps to make things stick. I like that you can listen to the lessons while running or driving and then complete the activities once at home. Good combination of mechanical practice and more cerebral grammar lessons.
I really really enjoy your lessons. I have tried some of the other French lessons offered but you are by far the best. Unfortunately I did not have the time to continue catch up with my lessons up to now but hope you will not cancel my free lessons because of inactivity. I do want to continue!
Thank you and all the best!
Really good for learning languages, very natural and just very good. Would recommend, 10/10. I had some basic knowledge on french before this, but this was the first one that allowed me to record and review my own voice. kjagijaewijfnadjshif
I've just started the first few lessons and I really like the conversational approach to learning and the additional form of testing that follows. Unlike other learning platforms that I've tried that encourage you to speak, Rocket's approach of using voice recognition makes it into a kind of game where you feel that speaking correctly matters. I also love how you can stand in for one of the speakers in a pseudo-realtime conversation. It feels that one step closer to learning with another person. On the negative side, I find the male teacher to be a bit too 'smily', like he is talking to children. This isn't especially off-putting when we get to the actual conversations and explanations but it doesn't really help with learning. I guess they wanted the male and female teachers to have some kind of rapport with the students but it feels forced.
this is awesome hgqrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiihgffffffffffffffffffffffdbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbgggggggggggggg
I already registered French course at my local area but Rocket French makes a lot more fun to practice what I have learnt with reasonable price!! I can learn my French even in the car while I am driving or on the bed before sleep which is completely convenience.
I have been using the program for about a month and a half now and I have found it somewhat useful. My level is above that of a new beginner but not quite yet intermediate. My concerns about the program, starting with the idea that most people want what will be most useful i.e. picking up useful spoken language for travel, is that particularly when testing, the program expects your responses to be almost in the same order as their introduction. If the expected answer starts with Tu and you use the Vous form, you are marked as incorrect. The program should note what form is wanted. A "hint" function also would be nice to help someone with responses as learning, not just simple memorization, is the goal. The program also occasionally makes some unexpected detours from what is useful. For example, one lesson moved from general travel issues to a flight of fancy to go skiing. I did not find a lot of useful information in that lesson. Finally, today I took a test which contained a large number of questions involving the "passe simple". The last question on the test asked how much one would expect to hear the passe simple and the correct answer was "almost never". So, I feel a lot of time was wasted that could have been better spent elsewhere. I hope these comments are considered helpful. There are good things here but a few tweaks would make it much better.
I've had this a few weeks now, but I've been so busy with work, that I haven't taken the necessary time to keep up with the lessons. However, I should be able to get the block of time needed to proceed soon. The transcripts are very helpful to me since I have a hearing loss that is not too helpful learning French (or speaking English!) If patience is a virtue, the Rocket staff should be eligible for sainthood soon.
I had tried the FREE trial at first and it seems i learned few basics french words and i enjoy the process of learning. I easily get bored with some other language learning apps i purchased previously. Finally, i decided to buy this very enjoyable yet very systematic language application. The survival kit, language and cultural lessons helps me a lot for a deeper understanding of the language. The interactive audio lessons just motivated me to be awake... NOW, its my turn to focus my study. BONNE CHANCE à tous!
