Using the free trial. At the moment it has me as a complete beginner so I'm not really seeing whether It will suit me when I need to learn things I don't already know. Sometimes the microphone doesn't seem to work when I'm speaking which is annoying. At the moment couldn't say whether it would be worth buying or not

Thanks so much for your feedback, Liz! If you’re looking for a lesson that fits your level better, just click on "Level 2" on the left-hand side panel. You’ll find one of our intermediate lessons there, available in the free trial! On the microphone issue, feel free to email us at support@rocketlanguages.com, and we’ll be more than happy to help you get everything working perfectly so you can get back to learning French!
I like the writing videos, but I find the spoken sentences too fast. I have also been using Linguaphone and Duolingo and Duolingo's option of having a slowed down speaking version is very helpful. Also I would have preferred a MSA version as I find the Egyption dialect difficult to adjust to.
I don't think I would recommend it over the alternatives.

Thanks for your feedback, Roger. To slow down the audio, click on the settings cog in the top right corner and choose a slower speed. I hope that helps!
I’ve been using Rocket French level 1 for several weeks now on an iPad. Though I think the format is very good in the way it introduces practical speaking without burdening with grammar, I am unhappy with the software itself. Trying to listen to a sentence that starts after skipping the 1st couple of words gets annoying, and the recording of my speech is too often very poor so that I have to repeat myself 3 times. This occurs on the app as well as on the website. I have contacted Rocket French, and though they are responsive, there has been no improvement, and there’s nothIng wrong with my iPad settings. I just think the software needs revision. I have started it and will continue, but I’m not sure I would recommend it.

Thank you for your review, Andrew! We're sorry to hear about these issues. As you mentioned, our friendly support staff have been assisting you via email, but to gain a clearer understanding of the problem, let's schedule a call with our IT team. As the designers of the voice recognition system, they'll be able to have a look at your settings and see what we can do to ensure everything is set up correctly!
While I am learning, I wouldn't use the prompted word, "awesome". The course relies heavily on voice recognition, which isn't entirely reliable. Also, there are a frustrating number of words or grammatical rules that appear in the practice phrases that weren't included in the lesson. Keeping a Google Translate window open helps with the vocabulary. I'm left to hope that the unexplained grammar will eventually be covered in a subsequent module...

Thank you for your feedback, Robert. Please contact us at support@rocketlanguages.com, and we would be happy to look into the grammar rule you mentioned, provide more information, and assist you with voice recognition. In the meantime, remember that the Rocket Italian Forum is available for you and monitored by our friendly Italian tutor, so feel free to post your grammar questions there for additional clarification.
All in all the program is very good. I like that I am able to record my attempt at pronunciation and then hear it back. The scoring, on the other hand could use some fine tuning. I chose the role playing lessons and now that I'm using it, I don't think it is what I should have chosen. I believe I would do better starting at level one learning the basics of the language before trying to have a conversation.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi David, once you have finished listening to the audio tracks in your Audio Lessons, you should be able to complete the Role Playing activity without any issue. Make sure to listen to these tracks and you'll be amazed at how much you understand in the conversation. All the best!
The content is good, but it is difficult to go through the lesson because Erica's voice is so annoying. It is also a bit frustrating when they give you so much time to repeat the words/phrases slowly, but not enough time to repeat the words/phrases quickly. I really do want to do all the lessons, but Erica is auditory hell

Hi Evelyn, thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you are not enjoying the voice of our Rocket Arabic host. All your feedback has been passed on to the Arabic team to review. All the best!
Good course, with a few issues. The module one sections 1.5 and up, dealing with articles, nouns, pronouns, etc. really need more development. There is a ton of important grammar in there but it is dealt with too lightly, and has way too much unfamiliar dialogue thrown in that is above level 1. This has been a major stumbling block for me. Level 2 hardly touches on these topics. It seems like Rocket dropped the ball on this section. I'll keep flipping back and forth between sections to try and make sense of it!
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Tony, thank you for your review. We understand that these concepts can be overwhelming for new learners and we appreciate your feedback on this. The Italian team will take another look at these lessons with your feedback in mind. All the best!
I wish you had a true native speaker instead of Amy.
Response from Rocket Languages
Hi Michael, thank you for your review. We provide a variation of voices in the course to expose users to many different types of Spanish. You'll be pleased to know that Amy is replaced in Rocket Spanish Level 2 and 3 with native speakers.
The course is effective and I am making progress, but the voice recognition software is very glitchy and inconsistent.
Response from Rocket Languages
It's great to hear that you are making progress through the course, Patrick. We have contacted you via email to try and assist you with the voice recognition issues you are experiencing. All the best!
I have been working with this language course for only four weeks - my assessment is therefore very preliminary.
My impressions thus far: the course could be more interactive (more dialogs with voice recordings); I'm missing a periodic vocabulary refresher. A dynamically updated glossary of important phrases should be included. Dialogs with more than two speakers are desirable; for example, short street interviews with real people would make the course fun.

Hi Rein, thank you for your review. We are always trying to make the course better and are thankful for your feedback. Your feedback has been passed on to the development team and will be looked at closely. All the best!
