THAT ROCKET LANGUAGE TOOLS OR NICHE IS SOMETHING SPECTACULAR AND VERY GOOD
Good lessons and exercises. I am learning slowly but find it works. Like hearing the conversations and speaking back.
Good but still I well give this company 1000 dollars.
I would definitely recommend it to anybody who wants to learn a language!
Thirty years ago, I used Pimsluer tapes purchased by my employer and local university continuing education classes that they paid for. I did obtain sufficient fluency at the time which worked well traveling to Mexico. But, "use it or lose it" caught up to me. I want to regain where I was and go further. With Spanish podcasts, other Internet options and Spanish cable channels, "using it so as not to lose it" is more available. And, I now have some "locals" who I know that have Spanish as their first language or, are like me, and "don't want to lose it" again. We meet every week to have coffee or tea and to chat with each other. It is a great way to meet new people and to bring people together! Finally, en español, "Deseo hacer un viaje a Ecuador y las islas de Galapagos, y tambien, un viaje a Costa Rica con "Habitat for Humanity". Me gustaria hablar en su lengua."
¡Muchas gracias, Rocket Spanish! ¡Amy and Mauricio "Rock It"!
This place is OK but not as good as duolingo. I can not do any of the lessons as i am not a "full member". This is not for me thanks.
Great Spanish course! I appreciate the ability to move at my own pace. Spanish courses in high school were adversely affected by students who were not motivated to learn Spanish. As a result, it was an inefficient use of time. It also required my attendance miles from where I lived. My Spanish classes from Rocket Languages are mostly in my living room and they are conducted whenever I decide class should be in session. The software for Rocket Lanuage Spanish is also effective on my iPhone and I found the phone version to be very user friendly.
In college, the Spanish classes moved too fast, and frankly, I never could catch up. I never had time to go back and sufficiently learn a topic as "the class" was moving at the speed that the professor determined was necessary. That speed was always faster than what I could handle. With Rocket Language Spanish, I can pause the pace of a chapter and stay on a topic which I am having difficulty with, such as a pronouniation, and then when I am satisfied I have grasped the topic as best as I can, I can then return to complete the rest of the chapter. Fantastic! You can't do that in a group class.
I also enjoy the constant (and repeatable) mini phonetic prompts that accompany all lessons.
It would be helpful for a quick reference vertical bar on the left for key word reference related to that page.
For example presently when doing flashcards and beyond it is an effort to scroll way back up the page to find the correct words.
Response from Rocket Languages
Response from Rocket Languages: Hi Jason. Funnily enough this is exactly what we are rolling out within the next 2-3 weeks!
The courses itself are well structured and have intuitive user interface. I also like that you often repeat phrases in next lessons.
However the performance of the web site and its responsiveness is not always very good. I had few days when lessons hangs and I also see that while doing speaking exercises it is quite often that it will not catch the phrase I speak even after 2-3 attempts.
I'll move to Mexico and just immerse myself in the culture and surely I'll learn Spanish, I thought. Nope. Even knowing a little bit of Spanish going in wasn't enough to help me converse in my new country. I tried several other programs, studied on my own, and memorized barrels full of vocabulary words. . . but I feel like Rocket Languages has really helped me learn to speak meaningful Spanish! There's something about the structure of the program that helps me communicate in the country I now live in.
Is it a little pricey? Yes. But it's far less than taking intensive Spanish classes and if I practice daily, have conversations in Spanish regularly (my goal is 10 convos with strangers in Spanish a week), and take Rocket's classes 3x per week, I note that my ability to converse, read/comprehend increases daily.
