Comprehensive lessons, each leaving you feeling accomplished and confident. Every lesson section can take 45 minute to listen to and complete. As such, each Rocket German level has easily hundreds of hours of content. Definitely worth the money if you're serious about learning a language.
I took 2 years of German in high school, it's always interested me so I kept coming back to it trying to learn more. I tried various free workshops online but they don't really give you an in depth experience. I'm pleasantly surprised with my rocket german experience. I do find some of the beginner levels easy because of my past education with some of the language in high school, but I do enjoy that it's not just audio, but that it's interactive as well. That definitely helps. I am more of a visual learner so I would recommend something more visually stimulating. I often write things down when listening to the audio so I can see the words as well as listen to them. Just listening to them doesn't really solidify it for me. I need to write it down and read it over. But the interactive lessons help with that.
RocketGerman gave me a confidence that no matter how far the target is, I can achieve it. I am highly positive for buying it. After the trial lessons I think this course would match my requirements and am looking forward for the day when I come back and write this review in German. God Bless
I am enjoying the course a lot. I like the systematic way the material is delivered with plenty of practice examples and opportunity to repeat it as much as one likes.
The audio facility is excellent.
The only reason I am not there every day is too many other commitments.
Customer service very good but can take a bit too long.
Many thanks
Susie
I love learning new languages! I can speak conversational German and, to a lesser extent, Croatian. Recently I was inspired to learn Spanish by a friend and so I spent hours and hours poring over reviews of the various online language learning options. There were so many options out there but nothing really felt like it was "the one" until I came across Rocket Spanish! Now, some people are happy with simply learning how to speak a language by only learning phrases but I'm one of those who really need to understand the grammar behind the phrases and sentences. So, when I came across Rocket Spanish, I was extremely excited to see that, not only will I get to learn to speak the language like a native speaker and in a way that suits my learning style (Visual) but also that the course is packed with quality lessons in grammar. What really impresses me about Rocket Spanish is the emphasis on repeating words or phrases out loud (not just in my head). This is such an important factor in accelerating one's fluency in a non-native language. After all, if you want to speak a new language, then you really do need to speak it out loud! I only wish that I had come across Rocket when I learned German and Croatian! It would most certainly have saved me countless hours and dollars wasted on ineffective methods.
I've been around the language learning game for about 10 years now. (Programs, methods, etc. I have 1000s of books in 20+ languages) At first, as with any program, I'm skeptical. Rocket Languages is fantastic, to say the least. It gets you speaking, using real world situations and phrases that bring your conversational fluency up very quickly. The mobile app is awesome, I use it at work and at the airport/ while traveling. I wish there was some sort of package deal because I see myself buying them all. I recommend this program to all my friends that want to learn a language.
Really the only complaint I have is that the 3 levels isn't offered in every language, and that I live behind my computer because this stuff is addicting :D
Rocket, if you see this is there a package deal for everything? :D
I am just completing the 2nd module of level 2 German. I did the beginners Rosetta beginners course and that has got me to the right level for Rocket level 2. I like the Rocket approach which I think works better than Rosetta would when things get a little more complicated as the Rosetta method is done without a single word of English in the course which can make it hard to work out what is going on if a simple picture isn’t enough.
The material covered looks appropriate for someone wanting to go and live in Germany so it has stuff about opening a bank account and renting a flat, but it would also be good for a tourist who wants to really experience Germany.
Customer service has been helpful if a little slow once I cottoned on to the fact that it is best to contact them via Help on the main site rather than help from the German dashboard help. But I have had very few problems so far.
I am loving this course so far! I have only just started but am remembering so much and I love the voice recognition. I had been learning German in a classroom setting for about three years but had to give it up over a year ago as it was getting too expensive. Even though I have a little (ein bisschen) understanding of the language, the first few chapters of the module have been great revision and I am learning things I had forgotten. The price is great (especially as I got the new year discount) and the fact that I get unlimited access is amazing - much cheaper than classroom lessons and I can do as much or as little as I want, when I want. So glad I found Rocket Languages.
Honestly it's a good way to learn a new language. The program carries on and reviews what the lesson before did; then it carries on and adds more to give you a great foundation to carry you a long way. Obviously study what you learned. Most importantly this program helps but without interaction with the German speaking world it's hard to maintain fluency. You need to skype with someone, speak with someone, or you need to go to Germany for sometime. Great program though.
Excellent interactive software. I wish this could have been available to me when studying languages previously. The interface makes it fun to learn and gives you motivation to push on for longer each day. I have recommended to a few friends now.
